Bob in STL
I didn’t care for her performance. Not my cup of tea but I prefer they show modern pop stars over the past years when they hired older Classic Rock stars of the past that can’t play/sing like I remembered them. The halftime show is overblown and it interrupts the flow of the game. Edited February 13, 2023 by Bob in STL 2 1

AlfaBill
I haven’t watched a half time show on a decade. Not my brand of music. Over hyped crap machine.
TheBrownBear
The show was fine. A little bland, but it's a tough job trying to appeal to 80k football (not pop music) fans in person and another however many million at home. Only the biggest of biggest entertainers have the chops and charisma to pull it off. Outside of Prince, U2 and nip slip, I can barely remember a halftime show in the past 20ish years. Maybe I'm old but I don't think so, but that was a bit much.
Nelius
Lol half time shows. Was there ever a good one? Maybe Prince but then I just remember nonsense like this and multiple doses of Coldplay. It honestly feels like something they should start to sunset, but I imagine there's still a bajillion dollars worth of profit and product placements that still happen somehow and must continue. I've always like that song where she goes Work Work Work Work Work for some reason.

Thats what I hate about the Super Bowl...it’s not about the football, it’s about everything else....sick of the halftime show....either have it pre or post-game....29 minute halftime is ridiculous, IMO. 1
GunnerBill
I enjoyed it and I am normally very meh on the Superbowl half-time shows. That said the stripped back simplicity is what I enjoyed. So if you are someone who likes the flash, bang, whallop stuff I can see why it wouldn't appeal. 2

Gregg
If it were up to me, I would have no halftime show. Do what they do for every game and have the pre/post game hosts analyze the 1st half. But I am a football fan. The league does this to get the non-football fan to tune in for higher ratings.

MarkyMannn
Party I was at, we did karaoke before game and halftime. KDIGGZ
Leave it to the NFL to wheel a pregnant lady on stage so all of the feminists can say #girlpower and women can do it all! I wonder if they knew she was preggers or if the contracts were signed before that occurrence. It certainly impacted the performance where she wasn't moving around much if at all. Pretty low energy. They should have had some guest appearances like in past years or someone to help bring some energy

Manther
Honestly, that was probably the worst half time show ever! That sucked. My wife and I spent a bunch of the time "googling" if she was pregnant. No movement of any kind, no change of outfits, just vanilla and bland.

A lot of that might have had to do with standing on stages that were suspended by wires high above the field. I thought they were stable but one shot showed how much "wobble" was happening. That could not have been easy.
All_Pro_Bills
The problem is its hard to create what performers are driven to provide which is an over-the-top 10 minutes of "artistic creativity" rather than come out and just perform a couple of their familiar songs. At this point after so many past Super Bowl performances, none of it comes off as original or provocative. The costumes appeared cartoonish and the performance wasn't very inspiring. For Rihanna this performance was far from her best. And of course all the critics and commentators loved it because that's what they're obligated to say and their comments can't stray too far outside the lines of acceptable opinion. PS 56
I thought all the awards and so called entertainment were way overdone. I was totally bored with all of it.
