Okay so as a quasi-Bucs fan, OJ has admittedly looked like a shell of his former self the last couple years. But he used to flash like crazy earlier on and you just have to hope a new set of trainers can help him regain his athleticism a bit.

What, you don’t favor the TB12 method and the Avocado ice cream?

This from the Tampa Bay Times last week - "Howard has yet to play a full, healthy season for the Buccaneers during his four years in the league. Two decent seasons with 14 games total have been the sparse highlights for Howard, but the Bucs can’t lock him up for the future without a departure from the constant injuries and inconsistent play". Howard was the 19th pick in the 2017 draft, and the Bucs had to go out and sign Gronk for $12M in 2020. At least the Bills didn't overpay.

Big shock that you would post something like this.  Do you

Most Bucs fans would have to view him as a major disappointment/borderline bust but he’s cheap enough to take a chance on.

Ok, it was a stupid signing but whatever.

$3.5m hmm.....  Replacement for not landing JD McKissick?

Maybe they had planned on signing (rb2) mckissic and drafting (te2) Trey McBride 25 overall.  When they lost mckissic they pivoted to paying Oj that 3.5 and drafting Breece Hall 25 overall.  Maybe…. @Solomon Grundy

Buffalo Bills, LB Von Miller agree on six-year contract; TE O.J. Howard gets 1-year deal

Howard will work alongside tight end Dawson Knox, who is coming off a career season, catching 49 passes for 587 yards. Knox, who became a go-to target for quarterback Josh Allen, finished 2021 tied with Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski for the most receiving touchdowns at the position (nine).

Why are a bunch of fans happy to bring in a guy who can't stay healthy, has been largely a bust and looks washed after a dreaded Achilles tear in 2020?

What you saw last year is post Achiles OJ Howard. 3.5 million for 140 yards and 1 TD?

Could have all but locked up Bates for the same money (2nd round tender is 3.8 million)

I don't get it

This is a very low commitment for a guy with tremendous potential.  If he can turn it around with the Bills he would be due a very big payday.  Very good prove it deal for the Bills.  Definite upgrade to what they have behind Knox.
