78thealltimegreat
Any player who gets traded for and does anything including being racist that he can to get out of the contract he just signed what’s to stop this from happening again? Cause we know once it was probably reported through back channels that the Pats wanted him he asked for his release right after his heartfelt team apology yesterday...potentially a CBA issue? 2

Doc
The Raiders should have kept him on the team and told him to show up or be put on the "Did not report" list and let him twist in the wind. 21 4

US Egg
The NFL should remember this in the new CBA or there will be more of this. But then again, maybe they don't care or want an NBA type of player movement. Smaller franchises be the ones who would be most affected by prima Donna types. Correct any player can do that. Along with going from $50 mil down to $15 mil. Will some team give him big $$ next year, not nearly as likely as it was a year ago. Plus he also is/was one of the best players in the league. There may be 5 players in the league who could even come close to pulling off what he just maneuvered through based on talent. Granted totally different reasons behind it, but hows things working out for Kap? So far the Steeler brain trust of Brown and Bell have lost quite a bit of money in the past year, so likely players will think twice before trying it

Believe it or not, MOST players (by far) wouldn't be willing to do even 10% of what AB did. They have more dignity and respect not only for themselves but for the game and for others. Will this happen again by from a-hole superstar? Thats very likely. Is this the new norm? Far from it. 6

They not only gave in to AB over and over again, they embarrassed their GM by not backing him up. They wasted draft capital on two clowns that Pittsburgh clearly had given every opportunity too. They paid or at least showed a willingness to pay top $ for questionable free agents and yet decided it wasn't worth it to pay for their own talented players in house already. It's between the Raiders and Knicks for worst run franchises in all of sports. 4

Blank Stare
Yes, yes he has. He’s set a dangerous precedent of creating new ways for different franchises and fans to progressively hate him more and more each day. I NEVER hope for anyone to get injured. Not even Brady. But you’ve got to think the universe is ready to dole out some kind of karmic retribution.
The Red King
Hey you...the superstar playing on the Raiders. How would you like to play for the Patriots? You know, the team that keeps winning rings? I can make that happen. All it will cost you is $20 million, and your dignity. Zero to hero, a championship for your legacy. Seems a reasonable cost, no? DC Tom
Brown did not set a precedent. The Raiders did. And that precedent is: the Raiders are a comically stupid organization. And it's not all that much of a precedent, really...more of a confirmation. 6 1
Virgil
I think the Pats set the dangerous precedent. They saw what he did and picked him up within hours. I get the issues with collusion and whatnot, but no team should have touched him. But they've always strayed from the pack and I hope it finally bites them in the ass. Honestly, I hope the NFL steps in and suspends him for conduct detrimental to the league, but that won't happen. 3 2

Regardless if YOU find it racist or not. It is, and definitely was meant to be a racist comment. Just like the video of when he found out he was released, running around yelling “IM FREE, IM FREE” like he was some slave.
