If they get a couple more playmakers and fix that OL I would expect them to take a nice 2nd year step forward under Flores. 10 1

GunnerBill
Chan's retirements never last long. Retired after fired by KC as OC. Retired again after fired by the Bills as HC. Retired again after fired by the Jets as OC. Nice guy. And his spread style offenses are ironically a better fit in the NFL now than they were 10 years ago. Nobody knows Fitz like Chan.

This move seems to say they are all in on Fitz for next season at least. Most likely draft a QB and wouldn't be surprised if Rosen if given his outright release. No need to have him and the new guy slugging it out.

I think it will depend on what they see through the offseason program with Rosen. I also believe that Gailey will have some input into that. He's still a relatively cheap option for a backup on a rookie deal and I think the Dolphins may be trying to hold out one more year, maybe even moving around some picks this coming year to acquire assets for 2021, so they can go after Trevor Lawrence. Golden Goat
I hope Fitz is just good enough to deny the Fins a shot at Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields. Edited December 31, 2019 by Golden Goat

I agree that ditching a high round pick like Rosen may be shortsighted, but he has shown pretty much nothing on the field. If they draft a high round QB this year, that competition could ruin the new guy.
JMF2006
Looks like Fitzmagic is pencilled in for starter....again. He goes to every team as BU QB then wins the starting job gets a contract then falls on his beard 1

r00tabaga
Does this mean I have to hate them less for the next year or so? It’s trending that way. NE* & NJ are clearly 1 and 2 now.

atlbillsfan1975
Flores got dazzled by the Fitz magic in NE. Seen how this ends up a few times now. Why does Flores think this will be different than what happened in Buffalo or NY?

Freddie's Dead
Fitzy should still be a Bill. Whaley ran him out of town on a rail and gave us EJ, Tuel, and Thad Lewis. So glad Whaley is gone.
Warren Zevon
On WGR this morning Sal said contrary to popular believe his "sources" tell him Fitz does not like playing in Miami and he won't be back next year. machine gun kelly
Chan will run the spread, but he will get the most of the running game as well. He’s a solid OC, just not a HC. The Dolphins are still in a rebuild so not worried, and as long as Gase stays at the Jets, we’re likely for four wins. We’ll need it playing the AFC and NFC West. Seattle, SF, LA Rams, KC, will be tough wins, but if we make the playoffs again as well the Patriots twice, we are a legit playoff team.
GreggTX
I like Chan a lot as an OC and even more as a playcaller. Always have. Miami will take a step up next year and Gase will be looking for a job 1 year from today. I'll never forget the time Chan called a middle screen to Fred at the 1 yard line. Easiest TD in franchise history.

BuffaloRebound
Gotta love it. Fitzmagic calling the shots in Miami. Makes sense though. They’re not getting Burrow and any QB they draft is most likely a year away. Without Fitzpatrick, Dolphins are back to where they were at beginning of this season. That's a large amount of time chan doesn't have to spend getting his starting qb up to speed. The bad thing for chan is that he's in another situation where he's working with sub par talent.

He lit it up with fitz and the jets.. then the next year that offense was just... a disaster. Decker got hurt, but they still had marshall, enunwa, and anderson. Forte and Powell. Fairly good o-line pieces. Defense didn't get as many takeaways, and the offense gave the ball away all the damn time.
