He was a decent enough RB2-3 last season and I'm sure it's a low cost contract.  This is what we should continue to do at RB.

Loved what he brought as a backup running back.   Didnt love the job he did as a returner.   Hoping they have other plans there.

This team was so scattershot at returner last year, seemed like they were just doing whatever. Didn't Fournette field kicks at one point? Lol

He looked good but I hope they don't rest on their laurels and think these 2 plus a rookie is good enough. I'd like to see them add a good veteran on the cheap

Cool. We still need a RB2.

I like Johnson and like the versatility he brings on ST. That said there is nothing remotely about him that is a RB2 in this league IMO.

Most elite RB with less than 200 yards from scrimmage last year.

And 54 of those yards alone came from the Dallas game, where the Cowboys absolutely REFUSED to tackle any RBs.

Good depth player. Wouldn't want him as "next man up" if Cook misses time.

I don't think you can get much better at RB3 than what Johnson gave the Bills last season.

Aside from playing special teams, he also ran the ball with burst and power and caught it well out of the backfield.

He's probably also making vet minimum or close to it.

Good signing.

I'm getting the sense OBD has no sense of urgency to improve this offseason. Stay the course and hope we're luckier this year won't do it I'm afraid.

Hate to break it to you, but this is a re-tool year. It isn’t a coincidence they released half of the defense and let the other half walk to FA.

He did a great job as a change of pace back and I doubt he cost much but man, I am getting nervous with each FA pickup that isn't a S

Very good signing. As others have said, get a better and cheaper vet than Murray/Harris and draft someone late like Gore jr.

5th round seems to be good value of a change of pace back (preferably named Williams)

Pretty obvious Beane is prioritizing the draft to improve the Bills, which is the correct decision when you have minimal money to spend.

And how will they going to get so much better with the cap situation they are in! What would you have done to change all this without being deeper in the hole. They are getting somewhat younger on the o-line. Our 2nd or 3rd RB will be better and younger then Murray.  Our second WR, which should be a rookie will be just as good as Davis but also dont sleep on our rookie , or Shorter or Hollis.

They lost journeyman along the Dline and will add thru the draft and cheaper contracts in FA. The LB will be better with Milano hopefully healthy for the whole year. The D Backs will be the same and we just need to add a safety(one in FA and one in the draft)

Was Harris a 1 year deal?  Thought it was a two but I could be mistaken.

This is a ridiculous statement this early into FA and without seeing what we do in the draft.

Is there some FA RB you'd rather have that'll be around the same price as Johnson?  I can't think of any.

It really wasn't much: 132 yards rushing and 88 receiving.

Wouldn't it have been better to spread those touches (3-4 per game for Johnson) amongst Murray and Cook?

Bills drafted Singletary and Moss and ultimately let them go because they didn't want to pay them second contract money down the road for what they were getting (the Bills got Hines for Moss--oof).  They replaced these two, ultimately, with Murray and Johnson--the former an ancient journeyman, the  latter a career journeyman scrub.
