Einstein
With how good Benford looks, and with Elam’s contributions coming partially on special teams tonight, it leads the mind to wonder what other 1st round pick we could have acquired rather than a DB that is a depth player in a backfield that is missing it’s starter. 2 6 18 2 2 3

KingBoots8
I don’t care where we draft someone- best players play. Benford is going on o be the steal of the draft, which is saying something considering how much talent we got this year. 5

Punching Bag
It will take time for Elam to adjust to NFL Zone Coverages and rules on man coverage which they do not have in college. Of course we COULD run around like a chicken with head cut off. [ Why is never ostriches which run around with head cut off? They you could have choice of burying it or cutting it off and running with head cut off. ] 1

Virgil
I’m ecstatic that he wasn’t good enough to start. Do you realize how deep this makes our bench once Tre comes back? This was our toughest receiver test outside of maybe the Dolphins and they were fantastic. I credit how well the other guys are playing moreso than knocking Elam 10

He was my favorite pick when we drafted him. in an ideal world, Elam slides into corner and Benford could even become the next great all-pro safety for this team.

Rc2catch
If Mcdermott can mold UDFA Levi followed by dane Jackson and into starting level corners are we really worried he can’t coach Elam up? I’d be worried if stafford came out and threw for 350 and scorched the kids.. But nothing tonight on defense should be cause for concern considering who was on the field 2

dma0034
I figured Kupp was going to get his share. He did but outside of arguably the best WR in football they held up well. If they can hold down Hill and Waddle in a couple weeks it is going to look like the Bills will have a chance at a 15/16 win season once Tre gets back. The team is really that talented on both sides 2

Joe Ferguson forever
Benford's performance should be looked at independently. Elam didn't play as well but that has a lot to do with how good Benford was. Corners are highly prized. If one of them turns out great (or very good) and the other ok, regardless of which is which, then we did well. 2 3

ChronicAndKnuckles
Honestly, I am more concerned about Cook. 1st NFL carry and he fumbled. I thought he would be featured a lot more, but threw himself in the dog house immediately which is not good in his case. We all know how McD feels about fumble issues. Meh I'm not concerned about any of the rookies. As everyone predicted before the draft it would have been very difficult for any rookie at any position to come in and make a big impact on this roster. Every position already has well established good to great starters. The draft was really just the Bills loading up on their already insane depth.

JaBu
Elam's strength is playing press, he is still learning how to "effectively" play zone. Benford's strong suit is zone and as Collingsworth said, the Bills played zone all night. Thus Benford was the best choice to play in tonight's game plan. I'm confident they can coach Elam up to speed as he gains more experience. He has all the physical tools to excel. iccrewman112
I am not worried, especially because Elam was engaged when on the field. Willing tackler and rallying to the ball. Freddie's Dead
No. Watch the TD to Kupp. Elam recognizes the zone, passes Kupp to Poyer, then proceeds to cover the WR in the flat. Pro move. Not his fault that Kupp did Poyer dry.
