Article - Trade for Saquon in the offseason? Apparently Twitter thinks so šŸ¤”

His best year was his rookie year and he's gone downhill since then due to injury.Ā  I don't think he'll ever be the same player as he's looked very average at best this year when he is in the lineup.Ā  Still struggles with vision and pass protection.Ā  Hard pass.

If you can get the guy for a 2nd or 3rd, than yes you take a shot.Ā Ā Ā  He is 2x the back Motor is and can literally carry a team when healthy.Ā Ā Ā Ā  Given the guy's character he may take less long term to play with a perennial contender.Ā  His cap number next year isnt outrageous, and with the cap skyrocketing in 2023 you may be able to sign him beyond that. Ā

Ā

All in on this one.

Thank you. Someone with sense here.Ā

Ā

If he's available at a decent price you take him and deal with the risks. Devin is a good backup RB.Ā

Ā

Generational RB talent that has had bad injury luck. You would never get him otherwise. Take the gamble at the right price. No brainer. He would take us from very good team to dynasty level. People want a Thurman? Here he is.Ā

He's played in less than 57% of his team's games the last 3 years, he's averaging 3.5 yards per carry & only has 2 TDs, he makes $7.2 million & he's going to be a free agent after 2022 unless you pay him enough to make him want to stay.Ā

Ā

The trade makes no sense salary cap-wise.Ā  He has to prove he's healthy 1st before any team should take a shot on him, and then you have to hope he suddenly regains his form from 2018.Ā  He's one of the main reasons the Giants will have a new GM next season.Ā Ā

One year $7.2M for a generational RB for a team that desperately needs one.Ā

Ā

You take that risk. Beane could make it work salary cap wise.Ā Ā

Ā

Don't overthink this.Ā

not in the least interested in a high dollar running back until we get our O Line sorted out.Ā  Ā  good/great O LIne,Ā  cheap mediocre RBsĀ  become very very good.Ā  Ā bad O Line makes every RB worthless.

Ā

as great as Barry Sanders was,Ā  he never had an amazing O Line,Ā  think about what he could have done with one,Ā  also,Ā  the Lions still stunk.Ā  Ā wasted Barrys career.

Only if they are giving us draft picks to take him. He's always gonna be hurt.

Ā

Hes on the same career trajectory as cj spiller same amount of hype.

Ā

At least CJ was available he just couldn't find "space" lol

If the price is right, absolutely. He still showed some burst this year that our Singlemoss duo simply doesn't have. IĀ  remember a 42 yd dump off reception or something like that in his first real game back for example. Plus he may still be coming back to an extent and the Giants are a pretty awful organization nowadays, a fresh start with a winner could be all he needs. Definitely a Breida upgrade at minimum.

Gee, wonder if the Giants are thinking they really screwed up not drafting Allen with that #2 overall. But then, I can only imagine that Cleveland who passed on him TWICE at #1 & #4, the NY Jets at #3 chose Darnold. The Broncos at #5 chose Chubb, the Colts at #6 chose Nelson are all thinking that way... all of them need a top QB.

Ā

Most of the Buffalo fan base wanted Josh Rosen and were begging Beane to give up the farm to trade up with the NY Giants to the #2 spot to draft him...

Ā

In any event, no way for Barkley!

Ā

Build the O line to better protect Josh and help the run game.Ā

I just stumbled across this article and they make a case for Barkley going to Buffalo.

What do you guys think? He's a super hard worker and is always working on his craft.Ā

I'm not sure if he lost a step or if teams just load the box against a Gmen team with no real passing game.Ā

He checks all the boxes McBeane look for in a player but the price would have to be fairly low imo for them to consider this trade because of the injuries.Ā  Availability is still the most important trait of any player..

Ā

What you guys think? It's an interesting scenarioĀ

No, it's not

A 7th max and they pick up half his salary and all his bonus money ;)

Ā

MCD and Beane Billieve in availability....if your not on the field you can't contribute.

All the Big Boys blocking for you are in the middle of the field and if you can't run there your not going to be in the NFL long.

Ā

Everyone in the NFL is fast and if you rely on speed andĀ  getting to the edge your already lost.

Ā You got fooled on that article or you are the writer... the "Twitter SPeculates part" is from a guy with 3 likes and another tweet with zero likes, and one with 1 like... this is really reaching the bottom of the barrel for a story.Ā

Ā

You search Twitter I can bet you can find a tweet about Russell Wilson to the Bills doesn't mean "Twitter Speculates"

Ā

Ā

This is the type of thing that shows you spend too much time on twitter.

Barkley and a 2022 2nd rounder for Edmunds and a 2022 4th rounder. Ā Use cap savings draft on a true MLB and OL. Ā

Replace a pro bowl LB with a rookie for a team that thinks they're close to a super bowl appearance. Hope not.Ā

Really?Ā  What makes you think an oft injured underachiever who has done virtually nothing the last 2 seasons is a generational RB?Ā  He had a great rookie year, declined in his sophomore season & has been invisible the last 2.Ā Ā

Ā

You know what other RB had his best year as a rookie?Ā  Terry Miller.Ā

I have little interest in the Bills trading for a RB when the real issue is the OLine, but this take isn't really fair to Barkley.

He had ~ 1500 yrds from scrimmage in his second season with no QB behind a horrific OLine when he was the only threat on the field and every opposing coach and player was keying on him every snap. That's a pretty galdanged impressive outing to call it a "decline".

He tore an ACL at the beginning of the next year, which he was just recovering from barely 1 year later when he stepped on a linemen's foot and hurt an ankle he's been playing through all season.

Barkley's a stand up kid, a ferocious worker and a high quality human being. If he ends up getting out of that gawdawful mess in New Jersey and finds himself on even an average offense next season, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him win some sort of Comeback Player of the Year award.

Terrible. Ā Heavy.com just reports chatter on Twitter. Ā Thereā€™s no reliable source behind this article. Ā Might as well publish ā€œBills will fire Sean McDermott after NE according to TSWā€

Even if he wins comeback player, he will either leave for big $ or become a salary cap nightmare.Ā  If he wasn't entering his final contract year as a huge? , he'd be a lot more appealing.Ā  There's no way the Bills can justify extending him before next season & no respectable agent would let him sign an extension at the lowest point of his market value.Ā  Not a good business decision to rent a ? at $7.2 million.Ā Ā
