I hate to say it … but the Pats are coming

I will say this:  when I tune into a NE game these days and see BB on the sideline, it's almost like he's the bogeyman or something.  He has taken on a kind of otherworldly quality... I don't feel like I can assume anything about the NFL while he's still coaching.

20 years has definitely done a # on me. I heard someone say that Brady ruined the league, and I kind of feel that way about both he & BB.  Not permanently, but they both kind of cast a pall over my Sundays now.

I know, I know - therapy is definitely an option.

I still think the Bills win the division, but I'm a lot more worried today than I was before.

That's OK. Win the East and you're in the tournament. From there it's anyone's ball game.

If we do get in I hope TEN and BAL play each other. These are the two teams that I think would give the Bills the most trouble. It would be nice if one of them knocks the other one out. That's way down the line. Just beat the Jets at MetLife is all I want for now.

Looking at the Pats remaining schedule and assuming they continue to ascend it's not hard to see them finishing with 11 or 12 wins:

CLE - (W) Browns had an impressive win @ CIN but Mayfield is the type of QB that BB will feast on in terms of mistakes.

@ ATL - (W)

TEN - (50/50 as hot as Titans are they aren't winning out)

@ BUF (50/50 but would lean towards Pats as of today)

@ IND (50/50 have played similar to Pats in recent weeks)

BUF (W)

JAC (W)

@ MIA (W)

When I look at the Bills today I obviously see them struggling to achieve the same results down the stretch so both head to head matchups against the Pats will likely determine the division and/or Bills playoff fate.

And the Pats don't have their bye until week 14, after they play at the Bills on MNF...don't know if that's good or bad, but I'm hoping they'll be physically spent at that point.

Are they?  Their run game ranks right after ours in production.  Mac Jones wins games throwing 40 times for 200 yards.  They need to score a defensive touchdown a game to break 20 points.  Their whole game plan relies on the Defensive forcing multiple turnovers.

They'll be a tough game because our offense is stuck in the mud but like last year, the Pats wins rely on their opponents beating themselves.  Like Darnold lobbing up 3 INTs.

Yeah the Pats have their own vulnerabilities because a tidily executed "Jauron Ball" game can beat them.

But it's not surprising that they are contending for the division..........this is the way most of the NFL usually is...........there are usually contested divisional races.

The people who thought that it was the Bills "turn" to rule the AFC East uncontested for the rest of Josh Allen's career were living in a fantasy world.

The division will be contested and the Bills will have to perform in a lot of "high leverage" situations to stay at or near the top.    That should be fun........that's the journey.

If it works out GREAT then maybe it will be like GB in the NFC North........they usually win it but every once in a while Minnesota or Chicago jumps up and takes it away.

Buffalo is the only team that can stop buffalo. Teams aren’t beating us we’re just beating ourselves. We haven’t walked into many games the last 2-3 years and just been beat cause we don’t have the talent to compete. That said the Pats are playing smart football and making plays when needed. Nobody including the Jags or Jets or whoever should just be considered cakewalks. Teams suck, but it’s not unheard of for bad teams and young quarterbacks to start playing better halfway through the season. Anyone who expected the Pats to be a layup this year was just kidding themselves. They’re scrappy and hang around

The jets are not a good team......but we just lost to a bad team so nobody is a "gimme"

Agreed.  All focus has to be on the Jets.  The Bills better be in control from the kickoff.

I have a bad feeling though.  Unless the Bills OL gets its act together this week it'll be another long Sunday.  Watching them lose sucks strait up, but watching a boring grind of a game like yesterday, it's not worth the time.  This might be a good one to DVR and catch up with after, or not!

Disagree. It's reality check time for a supposed "best team in the NFL" and Super Bowl contender.

The Bucs "had a bad game" because Brady threw for 375 yards and 4 TDs but turned the ball over 3 times.

that's the competition if you want to talk about Super Bowls.

We scored 6 points against the worst team in the AFC.

IF we lost to Jacksonville 35-32 on some fluky play it would be one thing. But our offense was dominated all day long and every yard looked like a struggle. That's the problem...

Not only that but McD was completely outcoached by Meyer

The Pats play the sort of disciplined football that this current iteration of the Bills just can't figure out.  A good friend of mine is a Pats fan, and in fact worked for the team for years.  He's as sober as they come when it comes to football analysis and is way out on top of our pick 6 league.  he watched the Bills the last few weeks and said there's a cancer on that team that nobody is talking about but you can see it on the field.  At first I told him he was crazy but not, not so sure!

so whose this cancer on the team??

Someone said yesterday that it's like watching the 90's Dolphins. I threw up a little but *****

I actually thought about the Josh & Bills comp to Marino era Dolphins the last couple weeks.  Marino was a super talented passer, but I believe he’s overrated because he was a poor game manager.  QBs like J Kelly and Tom Brady we’re/are great field generals because they understand how to use the run game to their advantage, combined w the skill to execute the passing game at a high level.  Also the best QBs are deceptive in run game.   Marino was terrible at telegraphing runs, and the Bills O and Josh has also been bad in that regard.  Defenses seem like they know when and where the Bills runs are coming and going.

With Josh as a 1 man show.  Biils O cannot consistently succeed. coaches and Allen need to do a better job helping the run game succeed.  Put the RBs and Oline in advantageous  position.

Pats beat Jets 54-13.  They beat Chargers.
We lost to worst team in NFL.  And couldn’t score more than 6

lets see what happens when we play Jets.  I’d be shocked if we put up anywhere near 54 like Pats. I doubt we put up half

Jets line is much better than Jax.  If we can’t block Jax, how are we blocking Jets?

we still have Bucs, Saints, two NE

sorry I’m off the koolaid

Bills peaked last year. They ignored the run game and o-line. Josh Allen is a bit over rated and can't carry

the team every week. It has been obvious since week 1 something is wrong.

Daboll's  calls are sometimes head scratching.  They have been exposed, and out coached.

It's a mess. My gut tells me the Pats take over 1st in the division next week and keep it another 10 years.

LMFAO

This is my last time on these boards until next Sunday I think.

If you think the Pats are winning the division, you can bet them RIGHT NOW at +440... For those that don't know what that means, you bet $100 and get back $540.

You should all be running to the sportsbook, because at those odds it's the betting opportunity of a lifetime.

I get 3-1 at my sports book that Pats win division.  I'm making a bet this week.  I hope Bills win it all.  But there is fine line between hope and folly.  I might as well profit from our demise

The Pats are coming for Buffalo...but the Browns, Ravens are coming for the SuperBowl.  Teams that can run the ball are going to be successful in Jan/Feb.  I'd say Tennessee too but that Henry injury hurts.  They have a tough, physical Oline so they might still be able to run the ball effectively enough.

Henry comes back Jan 8th.  That is 6 days after week 17.  Henry will be back and rested.  I doubt anyone will want to play them in January or Feb with a well rested Henry and a healthy OL.  TN has had the most injuries to date in the NFL.  Just realize who was their LT last night.  Bobby Hart.  And Vrabel figured out how to make it work.

If you count TN out you're an idiot.

Watching some of the national sports media talking heads today on ESPN they are already jumping ship on the Bills and all aboard the Pats hype train.

Deep down though it's stomach churning to think the Pats could reclaim the AFCE after one down year. And the NFL front office has to be salivating at the possibility of Pats/Bucs superbowl rematch this year.

Huh?

The Bills offensive line got beat to ***** in two of their three losses…. Not sure how that constitutes them beating themselves…. It’s a below average unit even when fully healthy and some teams have taken advantage and completely blown up their offense.

We could of easily won all 3 games we lost if players executed despite the shortcomings. Correct? Plenty of teams have worse talent on the offensive line and still execute enough plays to win games. Or they can scheme enough to hide the weaknesses. This same line was able to hold up in 85% of the games last year and now they’re just below average. I clearly wouldn’t defend how they’ve played but they’re clearly capable of playing better.

From Peter King’s column this morning: ‘One coach told me over the weekend he thinks the Patriots are better than the Bills. “Excellent, deep defense,” he said, “and Mac Jones is every bit as good as Joe Burrow.” Interesting. The Pats are a half-game behind Buffalo, but there’s one important standings factor to remember: Buffalo hasn’t played the Jets yet, and New England has finished with the Jets. Jones has been terrific, quickly. Bills-Pats, twice in 21 days in December, should be fun.’

I have a very bad feeling about this Pats team, which like the Bills has an elite defense. But they have an offense is far more effectively multiple than the Bills. And Mac Jones is for real. The evidence is in: he is already a pretty good QB and arguably even a good one (with no qualifications). Also, to counter King, the Bills are finished with Miami, who are just as bad as the Jets (who have least beat a couple of winning teams). I know Miami beat them in week one, but NE was the better team in that game and should have won except for an inexplicable fumble (they could have kneeled at that point).

We all know you like to say it...

When the going gets tough, a lot of fans on this board dribble down their pants and turtle.  These may be the softest fans in the league.  I am confident the team is made of sturdier stuff, but we shall see.

I hate TBD after a loss. Time wll tell if the Patriots are better but it's way to soon to day that now.  The Bills have a better record, better ranked defense, better ranked offense, better msrgin of victory, etc.

I agree with all your points. Some want to point out their close losses to TB and Dallas but don't bring up the loss to Miami and the close victory against the Texans. Biggest concern is the O line of course. I'm certain Matt Judon will sodomize every player who tries to block him.

Pats are very scary. That should be clear to everyone by now. They will be a tough out in both games this year. All of their losses could have gone either away besides the Saints game. They're actually much better than their record and their record is decent. Allen is better but Allen also has to be better in order for the Bills to win games. That could be a problem against the Pats defense. Where as the Pats could ask Mac Jones to throw it 15 times against us and they could still come away with a victory because they get 150 yards on the ground.

What if the Bills can stop their run game?
