Huh? What?
I don't think so as of now, but... Darnold seems to have reached Baker's best NFL level this season, if not surpassed it... 1 5

Ed_Formerly_of_Roch
I do think some of this thinking is due to Darnold's bar being set so low first three years. If he completes a pass it seems amazing after watching three years of the circus with the Jets. 1
MrSarcasm
And how has Darnold passed Baker? More wins- no Better stats- no Made playoffs-no Won a playoff game- no In more commercials- no Me thinks OP hates Baker. 6 3
Rc2catch
Can you give an example? Darnold didn’t exactly light the league on fire this week. Did baker mess up your mock in 18 or something? Just a LAMP and run??
Paulus
Will Darnold pass Baker? Maybe. Has he? No. Has Darnold improved on the Panthers? It appears so. Perhaps the Jets really were that bad.

bigduke6
Baker has looked meh this season, mbe injured more than we've been told, mbe OBJ is a huge negative for their offensive cohesion. could be anything really. just doesnt look right this year. Darnold looks like terrible Darnold again. would still take Baker over Darnold at this point. Brownies have had some terrible injuries this year, not sure what the Panthers problem is other than they played terrible teams the first 4 weeks, McCaffrey being out is a big loss as well. McBean
Baker isn’t elite but come on, Darnold is terrible. Actually, there’s one more QB in the class..ya know, the wrong Josh.

Hate to be that guy because I am in agreement with not being a Darnold fan but he had crazy, important drops today. Moore dropped a TD that was put in the only place it could be and Robbie Anderson was killing drives with drops. Doc
I'd say it's 3a and 3b with Baker and Darnold. The problem the Browns have is deciding whether to extend him or not.
Hapless Bills Fan
Huh What? is exactly my reaction. Darnold is not getting the help he needs from his WR OTOH...does that mean he's not able to inspire them to put in that extra effort for the team? Darnold looks better than he did with the Jets OTOH he has 7 TD and 7 INT right now, that's Not Good Mayfield >> Darnold at this point

Da webster guy
Baker seems to have peaked, and teams are starting to overplay him to limit the roll out/scramble to his right--throw on the run play, which he does really well. Basically the guy is a .500 qb since he's been in league and he's had good talent around him. Browns will have to pay him after this year but man I'd hate to be gambling on that dude.

BigAl2526
Darnold still has some growing to do. I think Allen is #1, of course, but Jackson is making a strong case this year. Baltimore and Greg Roman in particular are being very smart in the way they use him. I think Baker is still #3 Edited October 17, 2021 by BigAl2526
