Lofton80
I thought they overdid it with the substance recovery angle for Crosby and the big TE. They covered it pregame and blathered on like they split the atom all night.
MJS
I really dislike them too. Sounds like a couple of college bros talking about how awesome football is and who can bench press more.
BillsShredder83
I realize I'm super jaded as I'm just so happy to have football back, and my favorite memories of growing up are tied into watching games, that I don't think I dislike any commentator 🤷♂️ After a covid off season I'd watch Cinci/Jax with Fran Drescher and Gilbert Gottfried as commentary and be pretty content lol

34-78-83
I loved the Mannings (always enjoy their banter) considering it was a game I wasn't overly invested in. For a game I really care about I prefer the standard broadcast, or trying to sync the radio broadcast with the TV.

The problem i have with most broadcasts is the constant hype machine and repetitiveness. They gave Lamar so much love the whole first half, but didn’t dare give him some shade for blowing the game. Gruden made a couple stupid coaching decisions, no criticism whatsoever. Collinsworth is the worst to me, he likes 4-5 players a game and only talks about them and nothing else. His play by play is fine with me but his bias always peaks through This is why I enjoyed, way back when Sunday Night Football was on ESPN, and you had Joe Theismanm as the color announcer. I'm in the minority, but I thought Theismann was great on the broadcasts. He would give players and coaches props, but he would also call them out for bad decisions as well. Even better, he would call out the officials for making bad calls. Play-By-Play announcer Mike Patrick would also do the same thing, which I thought made them a great announcing crew. Patrick & Theismann were not afraid to call out anyone, and I enjoyed that very much. Edited September 14, 2021 by Mark Vader 1

I know some people hate him but he is the best at his job. I think Romo had that title for a few years, and he was actually very good on the KC game on Sunday, but CBS have been obsessed with forcing him into a straightjacket otherwise and last season he was dull beyond belief. The most annoying thing about the MNF crew was them lusting after a punter who outkicked his coverage on every single punt. Like he is literally failing at his job and you are lauding him. Collinsworth is good, but he ventures into bizarre player worship and overall dorkyness at times that is just bizarre. He seems to me to fade as the game goes on. He tried to defend the lack of OPI on Tampa in last Thursday's game, got the ref, who stated it should be offensive OPI, tried to get the guy to change his mind, he didn't, and then still went on about how it wasn't OPI or is hard to call because how the WR is positioned. (the WR extended his arm, that always gets called in that situation exp when the DB falls down). I liked Collinsworth more in the past. Romo is now MUCH better than him. To me Collinsworth has become a cliche machine, Romo actually tells you what he thinks will happen, analyzes the plays, etc.

It isn't even close. Romo talks you through it as he is watching the replay. Collinsworth doesn't need the replay he has already seen it. He has a great eye especially for what has happened up front. AlCowlingsTaxiService
The Manning brothers were awesome …. Fantastic insight into the game and the things that surround the game. Genuinely funny without being forced. Russell Wilson as a guest has a shot at a TV career once his playing days are over. Not sure I could watch a game I was heavily invested in, like the Bills, but I would DVR it and make that my second viewing.

Yes, I really like watching football. I don't really like watching all the nonsense on ESPN. First one of the color guys described an incomplete pass like this: "Carr goes up to the line, looks to see what the defense is set up to do, then if he wants he can alter the play by calling an audible at the line of scrimmage. That's what happened here, although the execution wasn't good." Then there are the cute little "spontaneous" one-liners that are well-rehearsed, like when Hollywood Brown catches a pass and he says "Hollywood comes to Las Vegas." Then there was the deep dive on two players' recovery from alcoholism. That's a nice story for the pregame or halftime and I'm happy for those guys, but they stopped talking about the game and missed a couple of plays in the process at which point I got fed up. And by the way in an entire 9/11 weekend of watching football - maybe I missed it - I didn't hear Pat Tillman's name mentioned once.

Simon
I turned the Manning Bros on for a few minutes but didn't love the format. Charles Barkley was on at the time and the 1/3 of the screen was their heads and it was hard synching three guys remotely and it just didn't work. Was Barkley there for the whole game or did I just catch the few minutes he was around. And did they leave the Mannings' faces on screen the whole time?

Gen2
I pretty much enjoyed the Manning broadcast, IMHO it kind of lost it's way when the guests started showing up. It was kind of like sitting on the couch with a friend or two watching a ball game neither one of you are particularly interested in, and chatting back and forth, the only difference is the Mannings know a heck of a lot more about football than any of my friends. I don't see this as sustainable though because the big brother little brother smack talk banter will run out soon enough. I'm pretty much a "casual fan" for football games not including the Bills so their lack of 100% vigilance on the game was fine by me. I could NEVER EVER watch that kind of coverage for a Bills game.
