Home state, NFC (weaker conference) and they run the scheme he has played in his whole pro career. Now sure bud. They have the NFCW and SF will probably be better, AZ, same, and AFCN. Pitt’s going nowhere, nor is Cleveland and Baltimore. They also have it easy you’d think with Washington, but the Saints if Beees comes back. Here he has the NFCS, and AFCS. I don’t see an advantage and Buff is on the rise. He might like what’s happening here. I see top guys wanting a ring, where there is a need, would take good but not great $ to be part of it. Can you imagine this guy jumping on a burning table. This probably would be fun for him. He’s made around $100 mil. not including advertising, so a lot of guys like him wants a ring. GB and Buff. makes a lot of sense. With us he doesn’t have to play more than maybe 60-65%.

Back2Buff
You could literally release Butler and Addision, and it will cost that same as to have Watt. It's a no brainer if he wants to play here. Bringing Gaine back could be huge if he is able to convince Watt to come here.

By releasing him, vs possibly trading him to a trash team, that’s why Ian said “franchise with class”. Well the Texans AREN'T a franchise with class, until now, apparently. That's the point. And there was lots of speculation even on these boards that the Texans might be interested in trading him. But good for him. Hope he finds a good spot. BuffaloRebound
Green Bay makes sense but they have some issues of their own. They are worse off cap wise and Rodgers doesn’t seem very happy there. The hometown angle is an X factor, but Bills make more sense if like Gronk that’s not important to him. ngbills
I would think his list only includes team that have a chance to win it all. KC, TB, BUF, GB, BAL, LAR are the most popular choices. BAL and TB have space already. BUF would need to create it it. KC, LAR and GB are all $20M + over the cap.

4merper4mer
He is smart and highly self promotional. He will go to a team that had a bad 2020 record but which could improve based on roster strength/cap room/draft capital. When their record is better in 2021 he can take the credit. The top candidates I see are: Jax SF Chargers maybes: Atlanta Giants Cowboys possible: Mia Ariz Jets Pitt Edited February 12, 2021 by 4merper4mer

Returntoglory
He's ripe to sign with Buffalo. It is the perfect fit. Young and upcoming with a very large playoff window. And then there is the need for a player with JJ's skill set. Lack of a pass rush killed us against KC. But as others have asked, is there anything left in the tank? Watt played in 16/16 games this past season, 8 games then returned hella early and played 2 playoff games last season. Last season, he was clearly a contributor on a crap defense. Merriman had only played in 3 games the season before the Bills signed him, was a non contributor on a top D, and was clearly hobbled from Day 1 in Buffalo.
