Allen2D̶i̶g̶g̶s̶TBD
He is yet to catch a pass for the Bills in the regular season, but he's still only 23. He is buried on the depth chart and I have not heard his name spoken since his rookie year. I honestly had to check to make sure he is still on the Bills roster. Does he really exist or was this a Deuce Dominguez situation where we drafted a fake prospect?

Putin
Given up on him ? I don’t think many here expected much from him in the first place , he doesn’t play ST he can’t stay healthy actually I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t get cut
NewEra
It doesn’t really matter what we do. We have no affect on his future. He needs to go out and earn a spot. I’d say that the odds are definitely stacked against him making the 53. PS is always an option.

I wouldn't be surprised if a guy like Kumerow or Gentry gets poached from our practice squad and becomes an instant contributer for another team.
Brand J
I think if the injury bug wasn’t a concern, Hodgins would have what it takes to make the 53. I say that based on reports from his teammates and coaches. We all heard how everyone raved about him and Davis knowing the playbook so well their rookie years, that vets would turn to them for questions. He’s not the fastest guy, but he scored well in agility and explosion. Josh talked about how quick he was for a guy at that height and how he possibly had the best hands on the team. Last year McD said Hodgins was positioning himself to make a “real move” up the depth chart and then he gets injured again. That’s his weakness, he just can’t stay out of the training room. I’m counting him out from this point forward.
BigAl2526
This might be a case of a kid with some upside who never gets a chance on his first team because there are too many guys ahead of him who are more proven and developed. Or he may just not have "it." This year is probably make or break for him with the Bills, and there are lots of quality players in front of him. My guess is he'll probably not make the team and will try to get on another team's practice squad that is thinner at WR than the Bills, Then he'll hope for an injury to give him a chance to show what he can do on game day.

BillsFanForever19
He was basically a 7th Round Draft Pick. We cut him after Training Camp last season. Any team could have picked him up after we released him. Any team could have signed him off the Practice Squad. He's imo the 9th WR on a roster that will carry 6 or 7 tops. He'll be lucky to be on the Practice Squad again this season and has no chance to make the 53. Why anyone would be having hope for him is completely beyond me at this point. 1
buffblue
He was a 6th round pick and as such I don't think the Bills brain trust feels we have much to walk away from. Hodgins for sure needs to light it up in camp this year or his days are numbered 16 minutes ago, PrimeTime101 said: To give up on a person, you have to expect something out of that person in the first place... not just in football, all walks of life. MiltonWaddams
I haven’t given up on anybody on the entire pre-season roster. Until the final roster is set, then they all have my support. Miyagi-Do Karate
When drafted, I was more excited about him than Gabe Davis. Thought he had more big-catch potential. But injuries, lack of PT, and what seems like lack of development has probably done him in. I am guessing another year on the PS, if that. 2

There has to be some form of expectation for the team to draft him, a progression plan at the very least. Understand that more 6th round picks don’t pan out than do and that expectations for a 1st and second round pick are different than a 6th, but I’ll argue there are still expectations. Ethan in Cleveland
Honestly if he hadn't gotten hurt he probably would have been cut by now. I guess the only spot he is really competing for would be Kumerow's. And I say that because those are two guys with size. Both are listed at 6'4" though many sites also say he is 6'3". Davis is 6'2. I just can't see him making the roster for the rare red-zone opportunity. His only shot would be if Kumerow got hurt and even then I'm not sure he would make the roster. Jake Kumerow was one of our core Special Teams players last season and was re-signed almost exclusively for that reason. Much like Taiwan Jones at RB, I don't even really look at Jake Kumerow as a WR on this team. Kumerow's going to be here regardless. And obviously, Diggs, Davis, Crowder, Shakir, and McKenzie will as well. Most likely also Austin for Returns. We kept 7 last season and that's your 7. And I didn't even mention Marquez Stevenson, who I also don't see making the roster, but I'd put as having a better shot at it than Hodgins. Long story short, Hodgins has zero chance of making the 53 outside of catastrophic injuries in Camp. Even then, odds are they'd bring others in off the street first. He was cut last season and he'll be cut this season. Edited June 13, 2022 by BillsFanForever19
GunnerBill
I never had super high hopes for him anyway. He couldn't separate in college. I felt his ceiling in NFL was as a redzone specialist. He has limited value between the 20s.

Flipnmi
Personally, I have not given up on him, but agree he is probably a long shot to make the 53. After Diggs & Davis, there isn't much size in the next 3-4 guys in line, so he brings something that's missing and could be very valuable. I understand that he has played mostly in the slot, but we don't have much depth outside. So if he can show anything there he has a chance, but staying healthy and finding a way to contribute on ST's will be required.

He was cut last season and he'll be cut this season. As someone else stated Kumerow plays ST, Hodgins doesn't, giving Kumerow a big leg up. I also like Kumerow as he can on occasion sub in a WR where as Jones very, very rarely ever gets a snap at RB. For that reason I have little use personally for Jones on the roster. Same with Austin, as you said he may make the 53 for return reason, but I feel confident he could take snaps a WR too if needed. Jones and Tyler M are two guys who take up 2 roster spots for nothing but ST. To me that's one too many, would be happy if one of them is gone, maybe Tyler as he making more the big bucks!
davefan66
I believe he was listed on in the injury report for OTA’s. He will get cut and end up on PS most likely. Nice that we don’t have to place our depth hopes on fringe players, better know as the “Da’Rick effect”.
