Niagara Dude
Get him in the workout facility , lets hope they include workout bonus because he has some skills Strengths: Tough run defender Very strong Surprising athleticism for a big, thick nose tackle Rare explosion at the point of attack for a nose tackle Can contribute in the pass rush Can fire by guards with speed Collapses the pocket Active hands Perfect fit as a 3-4 nose tackle Good fit as a 4-3 nose tackle Can eat up double teams Closes well for a heavy tackle Impressive ability to shed blocks Frees up edge rushers, linebackers Weaknesses: Won't play every snap in the NFL which has been true to this point Will be a rotational player Will have to monitor his conditioning Limited to nose tackle role Lacks length to be a five-technique Not a fit as a three-technique One-year wonder

Beane, former NFL Exec of the Year, is a Svengali of GMs. He let others blow their wads with splashy moves, while patiently waiting on the sideline to pickup the high-value scraps. 2

Yep, I love this kind of signing. I don’t need Clowney or Ray Lewis, names people know and gush over. I prefer guys like Poyer and Hyde who I knew little or nothing about. They came in, fit what we needed and gave us quality value. 1
Ross Murdock
Seems like a dumpster dive to me. The Bills are now a consensus Super Bowl contender. Their acting like their the Pittsburgh Pirates. Bills have limited money to spend, and need proven players. They are loosing Addison, Hughes, and very likely Wallace. who were all still very productive last year. Who knows what Rousseau - Basham - Epenesa can do? They proven next to nothing. This is just another questionable player. Buffalo has a legitimate team, time to start acting like it. 2 1
Apocalypse Nuts
He went to high school across town from mine in the exciting metropolis that is Manassas, VA. The fact that he went to Stonewall High, where many of my friends went, actually gives me some hope. My school in the city wasn't exactly a powerhouse for football players at any level that I'm aware of. That's all I have. Just needs more snaps. Can confirm from local WFT market, Settle will flash when he’s in which isn’t often. Like the signing on merit and love it for the implication of replacing Butler/Star. Plus his sack dance is the Pogo.

Uhhhhh, we're losing a combined 9 sacks in Addison and Hughes, not two all world beaters. Rousseau did VERY well against the run and will continue to develop. Hopefully they have Epenesa put back on about 15lbs of good weight this off-season. He has flashed at times also, but hasn't put it all together just yet. Basham is the rotational guy they kick inside on passing downs at this point, but he has potential. All the reports I've seen on Settle, from within the Washington fan base and outside, have been positive. He was on a stacked front and still flashed a ton of potential. He's a replacement for Butler and in this league you need depth to survive. It's the first day of FA, 9 hours into the legal tampering period. Clam your t*ts Francis and let it play out.

Hmmmm, sounds exactly like someone else he played with on our team from Va tech! So far we are batting .500 from there with one hall of fame Sack machine and one sack of unfulfilled potential ! Hope the tie breaker goes favorably for us ! Lol ! ( I admit I’m sad we lost Harry who was actually living up to his potential and off the field performed far beyond reasonable expectations. I actually will feel bad for him if the Bills win a SB just as he leaves after all he went thru. Great guy to cheer for and will take a bit to warm up to the new dts. All the preaching about developing and keeping our own and in my eyes we are letting a good, classy one get paid by another club because we signed a bunch of very avg or worse FA’s on the d line who gave us very little. Glad we are keeping mckenzie and Morse with some others , but this one is a tough one to see walk out the door 🥲. Glad he’s getting paid , a shame things worked out this way and his last Bills memory will be 13 seconds of crap ! 1

folz
Very athletic for a big man. With Groot, Oliver, and Settle, it will be a very athletic line. Watching his highlights (and I know they are just highlights from a small sample size), the way he took down QBs and ball carriers (with his length) reminded me of how Groot plays. Also in his highlights, he seems to get good push---playing on the offense's side of the line of scrimmage.

mannc
Now that we’ve plugged the hole at DT with a couple solid (and affordable) FA signings, can we rest easy about the Bills squandering the 25th pick on Jordan Davis? Only 13 tackles and no sacks in 210 snaps in 2021. After over 300 snaps and 5 sacks in 2020. In 2020 he got the extra snaps due to an injury to the other reserve DT. If anything this shows when he get opportunities he shines.

Jonathan Allen, Daron Payne, Montez Sweat and Chase Young are all former first-round picks. So, it is sometimes easy to forget about Washington’s other defensive linemen. Matt Ioannidis and Tim Settle are Washington’s reserve defensive tackles, and both could start for other teams. Ioannidis remains a part-time starter and key rotation piece for the Commanders. What about Settle? After four years in the NFL, Settle is a free agent and will for an opportunity to start somewhere. He should have multiple options after showing flashes during his time with the Commanders.
