Nobody wants to pay him $8M.........and he has no leverage to get an extension coming off a bad season......nor does he have incentive to lower his cap #.

So not much point in the Bills handing over third round value in a trade right?

The value of Ertz at his current salary is a 4th at best. Bills probably walked away after offering a 5th. There’s a reason nobody else wanted to trade for him.

Anyone talking about anything close to 1st, 2nd, or 3rd round value only knows the name Ertz and hasn’t followed the production dip. He’s not the same and he’s expensive.

His $8.5M salary is not guaranteed so I think the Iggles are probably keeping him this season.  (Either that or they are really screwing him around and I don’t think that’s the case.)  They’ve cleared enough space that they don’t have to get rid of him so unless they get something decent for him they’ll probably just sit tight.

With his contract situation and coming off a down year I do not see any team making it worth it to the Iggles to trade him.  It’s sort of a no man’s land situation.

Can we just trade somebody for this guy instead? Looks like a pretty athletic downhill runner and upgrade to our TE room? 🧐

We have that guy in Knox, it’s getting the passes caught that are the issue.

Reggie Gilliam randomly changed his number to 81.

It was 86.

Zack Ertz is 86.

Kroft was 81. Kroft is gone.

Gilliam has been 41, 21 and 14. I think he just likes 81 better than 86.

Day 3?  Wow. I’d be all over that

Im guessing their asking price has come down from a 3 to a 4. We don’t have a 4. If they were only asking a 5, the deal would’ve already been done, imo.

In the end, I bet he ends up reuniting with Reich and Wentz in Indy in exchange for a 4.

Thats all guesswork on my part, but I’m stickin to it.

If you can get this guy for a 3rd or higher..just do it. He would instantly be the best TE this team has had in over 30 years (if not ever) Which is embarrassing in itself but, lfg

He has low trade value. Philly will be lucky to get a 4th. Older, injury concerns, and in last year with high cap hit. A 5th is my final guess.

Would you rather have Edmunds next year or Ertz for the next two years?  Looking at the Bills' salary cap I'm not sure how they fit Edmunds 5th year option, resign next year's free agents, and fit Ertz's contract.

I'd still trade a day 3 pick, I'd rather have Ertz..

The cap is going up significantly next year with the new tv deal and fans back in stadiums this year.

I'm definitely not an expert on that stuff but Beane didn't sound too optimistic that the cap would go up that much next year in the press conference he gave the other day.
