Mahomes as a phenomenal talent that he is he has uber offensive talent all around him. Hill, Kelce, Watkins, Edwards-Helaire, Williams, Hardman and Robinson. Wilson has Carson, Lockett, Metcalf, Dorsett, Olsen, Hyde. Not horrible but definitely a few pegs down. The same argument would’ve applied to Montana, Kelly, Young, v. Elway & Marino in terms of supporting casts, yet they are all HOFers, without regard to who had what along the way. Little bit of chicken/egg riddle here—did the HOF QB make the supporting cast or did the supporting cast make the QB a HOFer? BillsPride12
I agree with the majority who have Mahomes at #1 on their list but Russel Wilson absolutely has the credibility to make that statement and feel that way. Anybody who wants to be great should have that kind of confidence. If you haven't proven anything in the league yet then it's not something you should be publicly stating but Russel has already proven it at the NFL level. Would Mahomes still do his thing with Seattle's roster? Maybe, but Wilson has already proven to do more with less. 50 minutes ago, RyanC883 said: who do u think is better? Mahomes? BillsDude
I will get flack for this, but those who say they are the best have insecurities. If one truly feels they are the best, they need not adversise it. They'd let others determine their greatness. He likely is annoyed that other younger qb's (Mahomes and Lamar) are getting more recognition. Well, you got your recognition Russ, in that Super Bowl. Enjoy it! Or cry over it, as it was the dumbest play ever. Admit it was a mistake. Then I will take you seriously.

The last minute or so of that game was Pete Carroll and Bill Belichick taking turns seeing who could make the worst decision. Belichick should have been calling timeouts saving time to have a shot to come back for when the Seahawks would most likely score. Carroll had the best power back in the NFL and he had been gashing the Cheats all day, so of course they pass.

Kingston Bills Fan
Mahomes was put into an all star offence and hasn’t had to play on even a mediocre team yet. He was installed on a team where Alex Smith was considered for MVP the year before he took over. And has indeed been great but like I said Alex smith also looked great and MVP quality on it! Bookie Man
That argument can definitely be made. Mahomes has the advantage in arm talent and off platform throws, but RW isn't far behind and has better escapability. RW throws the nicest deep ball imo. Win the MVP this year and I think your case is stronger, imho. I would put both Mahomes and still Rodgers above him, at the very least. And as a pure passer, Brees is still there too—then Wilson with a healthy Big Ben right behind him—then the rest of the young guns like Jackson and Allen who I think will be challenging for the title within the next couple years at current trajectories. Rodgers’ star has faded harder. Not only is he not the same player on the field, he’s made the playoffs once since 2016. He’s also 6-7 in the post season since the Super Bowl win. T master
Every good QB in the NFL has a ego and would like to think they are the best & Wilson is in the top 5 i'd say but i'd rather have a guy like Josh that will continue to work at it and not brag how good he is that's one huge reason why i'm not a Cam fan the #1 mixed in with his Supermen thing when he scores just too much but i love to see him pout when he doesn't win now that's a true sportsman . That's why MJ & Brady are that good no whining just come out next game & kick ass .

Call_Of_Ktulu
He knows the cap will be shrinking 20% next year and maybe more than that if ratings stay where they are. These QB's making 40 mil a year will need to take pay cuts next year or risk having their teams gutted.
