at the right price, don't overpay, team friendly deal as long as he has culture and is a process guy........right?

What does that even mean, a "process guy"?  The only process I am concerned about is finally winning a Super Bowl.

This offseason has been about as blah as can be.  No major moves to speak of.  I think Beane has gotten gun shy with 4 crap years of drafting.  And so so results with our free agent acquisitions.  I think the Hamlin situation and the wupping put on us by the Bengals knocked the organization off its axis a bit.  Need a strong draft to get us headed back on a Super Bowl trajectory.

Yeah the title needs a question mark......

But in another article regarding the Bucs / Bills...  They suggest that a trade for Mike Evans is part of that mix.

FOR GABE DAVIS!

Would you trade Gabe Davis (and pick/s) for Mike Evans and Devin White?

While trading Davis+ for Evans & White is incredibly appealing, it doesn’t sound like this guy has any sources or anything to report. He’s simply suggesting it like any of us could.

Furthermore, it would take some incredible cap gymnastics to make it happen. So incredibly unlikely.

All that said, it would be awesome to add that level of talent (with championship experience).

I'm interested in hearing from those advocating about a traditional 0 tech or another 1T how the defense will push the pocket.  Because any decent QB facing zero pressure up the middle will have no fear stepping up and making throws downfield.

In general I’m good with having a player like that on the roster, but as more of a role player. Someone to shore up the run game when we are seeing a lot of it due to the opponent’s style, poor weather or when we’re down late and our opponent is trying to close out the game.

Roster space has to be considered though. The Bills typically keep 5 DTs on the roster and currently have the following eight under contract for this season:

Jones, Phillips, Oliver, Settle, Ankou, Vickers, Bryant and Broughton.

I don’t see five DTs there that I love. Adding one that could be paired with Jones to stop the run when needed would be welcome.

The Ravens gave up a 2nd and a 5th in this year's draft for Smith. A heavy price for the Bills IMO and I don't think we have the cap space to keep White next year and beyond unless re-work more contracts. Plus am scare of his small size  (6-0 237) as the Bucs protect him with Vita Veta.

And didn't the Ravens give Smith 100mil. deal? I'd rather send a 3rd in 2024 for Patrick Queen.

it was sarcasm. Those are the comments everyone uses when a potential signing could happen

Tampa fans think he sucks. Bills fans think he’s great. Lol.

Perception is not reality.

How did he make the Pro Bowl. Stuffing the ballot box ?

Bills should draft one.

All the ones I liked are gone

Like Wagner at 9m or whatever cheap it was

and we still should have drafted one even after FA was fun times

I cant speak to the line play you're referencing, I'm interested too... but I know if we're in 4-3 a bit more it's easier to generate that pressure with blitzing. A roll I think Bernard would feel more natural with

I don't get it.  Let Edmunds go, then trade for White, giving up assets and paying him Edmunds money.  Sounds like a losing formula to me.

Merely entertaining this hypothetical annoys me.

Is Beane asleep at the wheel? Start calling!

Silly.

$11M this year and if it's not one and done then there'd be an awful lot more after that with a new contract.

Very good player of course, but we're not in a position to do that with any degree of fiscal care.

Again, silly article.

So, Davis' $2.742M for a total of $24M for the two Bucs, with Evans' $13M this year and White's $11M, even assuming we don't renew either guy costing us even more money?

I think White is a good player but not sure he fits the defense. He is a downhill, aggressive, blitzing specialist. Tampa use him on run blitzes and pass rush blitzes a lot. That is his strongest suit. That isn't this defense (I know some fans have played Madden and want us to blitz every play and so would love it). He has struggled in coverage. Unless the Bills are massively re-casting their D he is not the answer.

PFF gave him a 45.5 grade last year and 36.2 in 2021

In contrast, Edmunds had a 79 grade last year and 51 in 2021

Always thought he was a very good player too but not according to pff, which you obviously have to take with a grain of salt but still somewhat surprising

I think not !! So Beane should make a trade for this player lose draft capital this year & have him play 1 season for the Bills then he will be looking for the same kind of money & be in the same position he is in this year from losing Edmunds ??

Asleep at the wheel sorry but i think not it's kind of like the saying of fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me i'm thinking it's better to get a player with upside out of the draft & have him on a rookie contract for 4 to 5 years rather than 1 & be faced with another player wanting hug money .

But that's just me .

I don’t know what you charge, but hug money for me is pretty cheap.

That's Exactly what we need! Perfect for McD's new rabid defense. A 4-3 base that can and will rush a LB from any and every spot at will. That essentially gives us a 5 man line all the time. Elam and White can play man with P&H in the back.

EDIT: Not saying that I would trade for and pay him.

People wanted Tremaine gone but want to replace him with Devin White?

White is in the last year of his contract so you’d have to pay him. Not to mention you’d hate him for the same reasons you hated Tremaine.

But it’s the first new girl you date after a breakup. You can’t admit you miss your ex, and it’s new & different, but deep down, you know this new one sucks too.

I’d sign him to a long term 5 years 5M contract.  Can’t pay him until he shows he can cover

There’s zero chance he would agree to that deal.

Edmunds is a much better player that a bunch of bills fans want to give him credit for.

I totally agree, I'd rather have an A. Donald than a space eater.  But DTs who can provide consistent pressure seem to be nearly nonexistent these days, and a space eating DT allows a LB to provide a rush, and/or take a blocker away from a DE like Miller and Groot, and/or push the blocker into the pocket.  There are a few "athletic" space eaters that appear to be available later in the draft.
