Jets WR Elijah Moore requests trade

Big Blitz

Recommended Posts

He's being underutilized, no question. He's 5th in targets & 6th in receptions on the Jets, despite playing the most snaps of all WRs there. The almighty Breece Hall is ahead of him getting more targets.

He's been vocal about wanting to be more involved for a few weeks, and it's still the same.  He sees the Packers & Giants with dire needs at WR, and is hoping to force his way to one of those teams. I don't like how he's handling it, but can't really blame him.

But the Jets are such a huge threat. 🙄

Gonna be honest, I don't get how this news has anything to do with the Jets being perceived as a threat... sarcasm or not 😅

That'd be like news coming out that DaQuan Jones or McKenzie wanted a trade, & Jets fans saying "but the Bills are such a huge SB contender!"

Doesn't really make sense 🤷‍♂️

I was just laughing on the way home MOVIN the Chains, and they were laughing at his position.  He’s a cheap talent picked in the 2nd RD., and Mims pulled this crap last year, and they just fined him for missing practice.  This 22 yr. old will learn he’s a commodity for them for four years, and maybe the Jets have finally learned not to let the player push them around.  He has zero leverage.

You want to get more targets, a novel idea, PRODUCE in practice, and then take advantage in the games.

Moving onto Cincinatti as one coached said.

This would be a tremendous add for us. The kid escaped our grasp in the draft and now we have a chance to grab him. Beane should put together a great  package with a draft choice or two and get this talented receiver. Moore would be prolific with Josh. The  Jets would probably be reluctant to trade him within the division. Oh well.

There is - it's their QB.

I feel certain the QB made the decision to cut his snaps from 90% to 50 or 60%.

The coaches grading whether or not he’s doing what he’s supposed to be doing in practice and his games would certainly have no bearing on that.

I like Shakir growing into our 3

I reallyyyyyy like Shakir. I might get blasted and im even hesitant but in an imaginary situation. I'd trade Shakir for him.

Moore really has game breaking ability. A threat to take it to the house on any touch. Line him up near Gabe on a screen let the young men grind.

Idk that i even think one's better than the other but different skill sets. A home run hitter in this offense would put us over the top.

What’s the bigger news here is that in the articles I have read about Moore’s

low target %, Gabe Davis has a pretty comparable %.

Different roles. Your slot guy should catch a high volume of short/underneath stuff. Gabe stretches the field. Lower volume.

Monster usage?

Absolutely not.

Kirk targets by season:

2018:  68

2019:  108

2020:  78

2021:  103

Career high yards:  982

Next highest was 709

Is this a troll post? Cole Beasley in 2020 had just under 1000 yards iirc.

Kirk had a 982 yard season and a 709 season while being targeted twice over 100 times as a slot receiver and he’s not being used a lot?!?

He’s a great prospect, the Bills reportedly loved him coming out. He would blossom with Allen and upgrade the 3rd spot but the Jets will no way trade him to a divisional rival if at all

So Bills South trade for him and they trade him to Carolina for future considerations.

If I am GB, he is my number 1 trade target.  I would be on the phone easily offering a 3rd for him, would even consider a conditional 2nd.  The guy can play, and he would instantly be the best WR on the Packers the moment he steps on the field.  I really think he would be a stud with Rodgers in GB.

Guessing if Zach Wilson showed as much interest in hooking up with his WRs as he did his Mom's friends, Moore might not be having issues getting targets since Wilson and the WRs would have spent time getting in sync in the offseason.

This one actually interests me if it could somehow be done. Clear McKenzie/Crowder upgrade obviously. It's probably fantasy Madden world to think it's even likely because the Jets won't just toss him over to the division leader, but I could see him thriving with Josh. Just give Josh your young, fast (4.34 40) and hungry, and they'll thrive.

And that's now both Moore and Mims being vocal about lack of targets and wanting to leave this year.

Paper Airplanes. Wake me up when the Fish go on a streak again because the Jets hype is even more ludicrous. They'll win more games with a solid defense and a lucky bounce here and there but that offense is still bottom third of the AFC. The ongoing dysfunction is borderline hilarious. Saleh's a good coach, but he's going to need another year or two. You can't win a Super Bowl when a significant chunk of your skill players want to leave...

They absolutely would not swing him our way unless we overpaid a ton.

It's business. If he doesn't get targets he can't hit incentives and won't be able to negotiate the contract he feels he deserves. Not much different than the Marquise Brown situation in Baltimore. The Jets could be ruining his career.

So you're saying they should trade him to the Ravens? 😆

3rd + Zack Moss

The only way that's happening is if we get nothing back in return but give them a 3rd to take Moss off our hands.

OK, time to ask a serious question: Why are there so many posters who believe Zack Moss, who has no trade value and might not even get picked up if we waived him, is someone any other NFL team would trade for?

He's benched for Sunday & not at practice today.

His career appears to be following in the footsteps of Robert Foster.

I am fine signing OBJ, but I would actually be MORE excited about trading for Elijah than signing OBJ.

It will NEVER happen.  Jets are NOT sending any help to the Bills, and Beane is NOT going to give up a good draft pick to get another WR.

But, Elijah would be a better addition because he is full go and ready.  OBJ is a proven stud, but we have no idea how good he will be this year after yet another major injury.

Again, I am all for signing OBJ, I mean there isn't really any risk and even if he is 75% or what he was, he is still a lot better than McKenzie.

Im just comparing the two to show how much confidence I have in Elijah Moore excelling with a good QB.  I think this kid could be very good in a better situation.

I often wonder this as well.
I guess because he’s cost controlled on his rookie contract for a bit longer.
He would 100% get picked up if waived though. Bills fans are too harsh on him. He might not be great but there’s a lot of running backs who would not look very good if they only had the amount of touches moss gets weekly.

I think he'd clear waivers & end up on a practice squad.  Maybe we'll find out within the next year who is right because as of now it's too speculative to be anything other than an opinion.

But this is where blind stats are dumb. You need to break down the throw, the coverage, how deep it was, etc. like a screen pass is a lot different than a 30 yard one down the field.

Moore flashed last year with multiple qbs not named Wilson, who has kinda sucked so far. He could be a steal for someone. Weirdly, the Jets have a pretty loaded receiver group with a bad qb .

Totally agree. Also, OBJ was a declining player before this injury. Add to the his huge ego, Moore would be a much better fit imo.  But unless we completely over pay, that won’t happen. But Moore makes so much sense with Allen.

Haven’t watched the Jets  play this year yet but a little surprised to hear he is not being used, he’s a talented player.

The CS won't take the training wheels off game manager MILF man. Their offense runs thru Hall. Run the ball and play defense is what the Jets do.
