Unreal athletic play. https://operations.nfl.com/the-rules/nfl-video-rulebook/roughing-the-passer/ I disagree. The only part of the rule that could apply is below knee. But Ed was blocked into the QB so it's not a penalty. I need to see it again but IIRC Ed was also held on the play. But I could be wrong it's way past my bedtime. He was never comfortable when he couldn't scape the pocket. There was a play, think it was a failed 4th down try where Poyer tipped it? Addison I think had a path to mahomes and instead just maintained his leverage to not let him escape to the side. Some with other end (Hughes?) End result, Mahomes had 8 seconds in the pocket. Yet, Buffalo’s zone shell held, mahomes tried to force it, turnover on downs. That is some kind of defensive scheming. 2 3

In the SB, TB just harassed and pressured Mahomes. And they only could do that because the entire KC o-line was injured. Tonight, we got Steady pressure on him, but he had time— our coverage was just really great, as was our run D.

I think they gave the rest of the league an idea on how to stop mahomes. As long as you have the athletic players to execute the game plan. I also think KC’s offense has regressed and most importantly, their defense has bottomed out. Statistically their D may not rank last on the league, but their play is darn close! Teams would generally try to use ball control to slow the Chiefs down by running, eating up clock and keeping the Chiefs offense off the field. The Bills did almost the opposite tonight. Make the Chiefs offense stay on the field for longer periods of time (they ran almost 80 plays!) and slow themselves down. Then the Bills went and scored quickly. Felt like Mahomes got real frustrated. Edited October 11, 2021 by Malazan 3
billybob71
and man I love watching JA play, he has been so fun to watch since the moment he put on a Bills uni. Canadian Bills Fan
This game...where do I even start. This was probably my favorite Bills game in recent memory for so many reasons that I was used to but proved to be no longer true. 1. Allen played lights out in the hardest and loudest stadiums in the league. 2. We dominated a top team in terrible weather 3. This mat have done a lot to help my BBFS when the first drive after half time made nervous that KC might come back but defense made plays and offense showed back up. I am so beyond happy and absolutely love this team!! 4

NickelCity
I am sp impressed with this team. To have beaten the chiefs and a staggeringly lopsided officiating crew (look at when the phantom flags were called, not the *one* makeup call) was something I admit I didn't think they could do. Bravo.

We'll be no 1 seed in AFC and I believe op was implying that the chiefs may not even be a WC. They maybe seeing their easy road to post season window has closed. They can't neglect defense and yet they haven't solved protecting Mahomes so they gotta hit on an awful lot to compete with that new king of the AFC, you know the one with top offense and top defense. Thats the new narrative that the Bills are generating with their complementary play. It was there for everyone to see. Bills get stopped a few times no panic defense get the ball back or limits the damage on scoreboard. KC got stopped their defense couldn't get the ball back for them. Bills are a complete team they don't need Josh to carry them yet if its needed he has the ability to do so and doesn't shy away from it.
