I actually feel sorry for Dolphins fans, we all know how excruciating the 17 year drought was, 4 straight SB losses, etc. But they have a hell of a team down there and still think their future is bright, just got hit hard with ridiculous injuries at the worse possible time. A few plays go differently and it'd be a much different reality right now for both the Bills and Dolphins.

With that said I'm definitely rooting for them to go into KC and play the game of their lives to try and pull the massive upset because I want zero part of the  Chiefs in the playoffs....could care less that it's in Buffalo because Mahome is not going to be denied an another AFFCG appearance (at minimum) this year.

This is like feeling sorry for the Germans after they bombed Pearl Harbor.

I still thing for the foreseable future they are a problem and do win a division while being competitive, BUT Hill is aging, they have to pay Tua, and their cap isn't great. The time with Tua still being cheap was the last two years, now like every other QB who gets paid it puts more of the onus on him and they could have regret 2-3 years down the road.

If they were smart they would go with Tua’s fifth year option and draft a smart college QB with limited arm talent to see what someone like that would look like with those weapons in training camp before committing big money to Tua. I’m hoping they commit to Tua long term instead, because as soon as they do they won’t be able to continue to afford the type of weapons that he needs to be successful.

As a Dolphins fan I am not surprised you are rooting for them next week. Nice of you to pop by and tell us about it though. Your own forum a bit too depressing today?

I spent the entire season hearing from very loud, forceful Dolphins fans on Twitter and on Dolphins forums that Tua was better than Josh Allen.

This morning? Nothing but "I've given up on Tua" and "He's not the guy".

My, how the turntables...

But somehow that ***clown makes the pro bowl, but Allen doesn't.

All the Fins had to do was hold onto a 14-point lead with a few minutes left against the Titans and they would be the two seed. They beat the Cowboys they took care of the Jets they just had to beat the Titans with a lead late in the game. Well the Fins faltered and the Bills gave themselves a chance to win the division in the final week.

To your point, I am pretty sure they activated the 5th year option

https://overthecap.com/player/tua-tagovailoa/8745

The sticking point is that because they drafted him so high, the option works out to a $23 million hit. The Dolphins are about as cap strapped as we are, but we can lop off ~$20 M easy if we kick the can down the road on Josh who we have a reliable idea is going to on the team a while.

I don't think the Dolphins can ask for a price cut on a 5th year option, so the only way they could lower that hit is by extending him. They have other sources they can squeeze from. but with a lot of departing free agents there's a good chance the talent around Tua is worse next year not better.

They should sign Tua's former team mate, Mac Jones, that would be entertaining.

Over the last 5 years when has BFLo NOT shut down their potent offense, hobbled or not?

Who know who's the architect of this? 😉

Sure do...the same guy in my avatar that I'm always going to be skeptical of, especially until he does it when it matters in the playoffs against a certain QB in KC. The good/bad news is he's likely going to get that chance again in a few weeks.

No one has ever questioned what McD has done here and four straight division titles is an accomplishment but it's now or never to finish the job so to speak.

It is certainly an interesting situation. You can reasonably say he is a Top 10 QB and I do believe with a good set of weapons (healthy) he can win a SB. But they faded down the stretch and he was at fault not making plays. In 2020 it was win and get in and he looked awful, last night he was OK at best. Once that money is paid the expectation is you can elevate your team at points. Tyreek is one of a kind and once he is gone what happens? I think all of that probably made last night even worse for PHIN fans as they know this to be true and if they cannot make a run this post season the table only gets harder.

I'm not so sure on that. He's put up Top 10 numbers in this system with these weapons throwing to his first read. But looking at the list of great and good QBs...

5-6 Top Tier QBs

mahomes
allen
burrow
jackson
dak

Then the rest of the pack with some really good QBs at the top:

cousins

herbert
goff
purdy
stroud
lawrence

stafford
hurts
mayfield
carr

Not sure I'd put Tua above anyone until we get to the Hurts/Mayfield area... and that's #13/14ish.

If he's top 10, it's barely.

a CLASSIC!

Oldie but goodie.   And Bills relevant.

He was dubbed that by some clever Fish fan after his 3 INT performance in the season finale loss(56-26) to the Bills in 2020.

My favorite so far:

Tua is a nice guy. You know who else is a nice guy? My pool cleaner. They’re both frauds and should not get paid a dime more then what they’re getting now .

The pool cleaner is satisfied with the 'fringe benefits'.

I’m not.

I want KC front and center. I want Mahomes and company to experience Highmark with rabid fans inside, stupid train whistles blaring and gusty, unpredictable winds blowing.

I think we match up better vs KC personally. Either way, I don’t think anyone wants to come play in Buffalo. The team is playing good football, and our fans will break the spirits of whomever comes over.

… someone needs to keep Hailee away from Josh’s house the night before. You know, just in case.

I agree.  The last time KC was in OP was that stupid Covid game.  Chiefs had an empty stadium.

Stroud just might. Waiting to see how he performs in the playoffs first but he's been extremely good this year.

Not for one year.  Many of those in the 2nd tier have looked good for one year.  Herbert for example.  Give me 3 years before elevating.
