They really have to start spending the resources on offense though. Gonna take some big moves to clear space to address the offense this off-season. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/2023/ They've already restructured quite a few guys already. For the credit McBeane receives building the roster, they went for broke this season and next season the bill starts coming due.

stlbills13
I didn't expect a torn ACL but I truly didn't expect him to play again this season as it was. Hopefully he can be ready to go by September or so. To me, this makes the #1 seed harder but more important. This team needs as much rest and healing as possible. If the AFC goes through Orchard Park, the Bills will be in the Super Bowl whether we have Von or not.

If the MRI was read correctly, he could've had the surgery sooner. As it stands, if Miller takes a year to rehab, he's back in Dec. '23.” This is what you said. This is flat out wrong. Again, even in Tre’s case, where the scan revealed immediately that his ACL was torn, he did not have surgery right away. he had it weeks later. Know why? Of course you don’t. But you can look it up instead of wasting time here embarrassing yourself and calling people names for correcting you. 1

Coach Tuesday
The "we can't catch a break" crowd is projecting their own life-pessimism onto the Bills. A less-talented Bills team was one coaching-related brain-fart away from putting away a more talented Chiefs team. Every team suffers injuries. Not every team chases a ring like the Bills did this offseason. It's unfortunate that this particular signing didn't work out but it was the right move. But as I said upthread, the smarter path to success would be to lean into the strength of the team, JA17, and focus on protecting him and giving him weapons. 1 1 1
MasterStrategist
Sucks losing Von for the year...no doubt. Be great if we could fully healthy, but it's football and teams lose key/superstar players to injury every season. Some teams can overcome, while others can't. The Rams dealt with alot of injuries getting to the SB and eventually winning it all LY, just 1 example. Collectively, this team has to keep playing their A-game and I'll take our chances against anyone, including Chiefs/Bengals.

Not dumb. There are different degrees of suck! Maybe a real doctor can chime in but things like: Full tear vs partial tear. If partial how much (Grade 1,2,3) Did the tear include some of the bone the ligament connect to? etc EDIT Grade 1 Grade 1 injuries include ACLs that have suffered mild damage, e.g., the ACL is mildly stretched but still provides adequate stability to the knee joint. Grade 2 Grade 2 ACL injuries are rare and describe an ACL that is stretched and partially torn. Grade 3 Grade 3 ACL tears happen when the ACL is torn completely in half and is no longer providing any stability to the knee joint. Verified my understanding and quoted Johns Hopkins above https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/conditions-and-diseases/acl-injury-or-tear Site below shows a Grade 3 Tear to the same ACL he had a grade 3 tear in 2013..... oof https://www.draftsharks.com/fantasy/injury-history/von-miller/4782 Edited December 7, 2022 by RocCityRoller

skibum
I don't consider this a major deal for the Bills' SB prospects. Von was a nice bonus add to help seal the deal on a championship, and he made the big plays he was paid to make. But he was only playing half the snaps, and this is still a very deep defense without him. That, and I think his presence will still be felt on the field, in the form of all the things he taught the young guys who are still playing. Sure, it would be nice to have the option to play Von Miller on every down during the playoffs, but I think it will be alright. Did anyone think the Bills were not SB contenders before Von Miller came to town? Edited December 7, 2022 by skibum
