Success
Dane doesn't have to be White, or anything close to how good White is. He needs to be capable and coachable. What we need from him is play that's good enough so that White's loss doesn't create a vulnerability that opposing DC's and QB's can exploit. 15
Ethan in Cleveland
Just don't get beat deep. That's all he needs to do. The SuperBowl is solely dependent on Allen.
Warcodered
Leslie Frasier and McDermott are going to get tested on how well they scheme this defense. 2
GETTOTHE50
Dane doesn’t have the instincts to make up for his lack of closing in speed. We saw that when the saints got the first down near the sidelines. Tre breaks up the pass and has many times because of his foresight.

Success
Anyone think they play him at nickel, and move one of the other guys (or an acquisition) outside?
BuffaloBillyG
He just needs to play his 1/11 if called upon and we will be fine. White is a special player and makes a difference for sure. However there is a lot of talent on that D and on the secondary especially. Poyer and Hyde will lead the young guys along. 3
Dave_Bills
Not sure he has the speed to be a star. He just needs to be solid
BigBuff423
Some of the games left: NE twice, Tampa Bay, Falcons, Panthers and Jets. Except for Bucs, no truly elite WRs Buffalo would need to lock down to finish the season. Of course, playoffs will be different (assuming the Bills make the playoffs and no I’m not being pessimistic, just nothing guaranteed) but at that point who knows what happens. Somewhat ironically, the run game now plays an even bigger role for the Bills to be able to continue to win. 4 1

For all you know he sniffed out the shot call and let him take the first.
Coach Tuesday
Dane has fallen for every double move he’s ever seen. Somehow he bit AGAIN on Thursday night. I’ve never seen a corner fall for the fake so many times without adapting. 5

Rc2catch
We obviously want to see him perform well. But let’s be completely honest here……… We need Dane to play at Levis level right now and that’s enough to ask of him.

What Dane does really well is have very good cover skills (turns his head around, plays the ball); and he seems like a great tackler and is excellent in run support. What Dane seems to struggle with is biting on double moves and not having great closing foot speed. 2 2
TwistofFate
I like Dane Jackson. He's young and definitely not a seasoned vet, but he can make plays and has good instincts. He will be tested for sure. Let's see what he does.

billsfan89
Just need him to play at an effective level, if he plays like a starting caliber corner that will be enough. He isn't likely to match Tre's level of production.
MasterStrategist
Dane will be fine, he's not Tre but few are. I've seen Dane play high school, where he was an excellent dual threat QB (recruited by some schools at that position) and then go on to play at Pitt. He's a team first, great kid. Polite, quiet and hard working. Thought he was going to beat out Levi for the #2 spot this offseason, but anyone saying we don't have depth is crazy. He will step in and do solid for us.
Mc1320
Pass rush needs to start getting home - they have invested a ton of capital in the DEs the last two years and not much consistency to show for it. A high “pressure rate” doesn’t translate into lost yardage and change in field position.

Doc Brown
Guys. You're still trying to replace White. I told you we can't do it. What we can do is recreate him in the aggregate.
Mr. K
All that matters is can whatever combination of corners along with Hyde and Poyer keep opposing teams passing attack in check. Nobody needs to be an island we need quality and consistency. Nobody is filling Mr. Whites shoes... they've got sweat coming out of them.
