Week 5: Bills at Titans on Tuesday Night Football

Recommended Posts

Let's get back to the issue at hand although I do enjoy hot Tennesee Fan Board and hot Justin Herbert talk.

Do you all think the game will go on on Tues?

I think it will because it sound like the test was positive on just one staff member.

I'm just concerned that it MIGHT put our players at risk.  That place COULD be a trap.

Except that it DID work for MLB, which is the closest comparison to the NFL (large traveling parties, no bubbles).

Part of that was MLB coming down hard on players who violated protocols, which the NFL hasn't had the guts to do to protect its product.

I'd argue it hasn't. Cool they played a 60 game shell of a season that no one will ever consider to be a legitimate championship. Big old asterisk next to that one.

There is no reason to suspend the season. Stretch it out sure, but putting it on hold does nothing.

You must be fun at parties.

You can keep your woe is us pity parties where you can compare victim points.  I'll be over here with the mature adults.

you posted proof. Oh man

Yes.  I did.  The exact release and catch points of the ball, which is all that matters.  I'm sorry if recognizing reality or getting over an unlucky loss on a great play by an opponent makes me not a true fan.

They are going to wait.  My questioning of why Tuesday instead of Monday for first rescheduling is why they are going to wait till tomorrow I think and see results.  Built another day in just in case. They want to wait as long as they can to cancel.or postpone.

Wish the league would make a decision here ASAP.  I have Motor at RB and need to know if I should sub in another RB.

They need to call this situation before the kickoff of today's games.  My fantasy line-up depends on it.

Exactly.

I did it this week with Herbert and I did it last week because I had kelce going into Monday night for a game we didn’t know would happen when that news came out I immediately went and found a Monday night TE from the originally scheduled game. It just so happened to be Tonyan. Turns out i should have put him in. Lol. Regardless it’s a good safe strategy to use if those late game players are available to cover your butt.

Hey, many years ago after making a political comment on TSW Lori gently directed me to PPP thus causing me to become better educated with clearer thinking but suffering from a fate made in hell.

Ahh.. the good ole dayz.  That was also a time when PPP wasn’t a bottomless hellhole and no one knew what a pandemic in turbulent times could be like..

I yearn for yesteryear as well..

The numbers bear this out...that's simply fact

I get that the posts might be frustrating to the mods, but it’s something the NFL needs to look into if they want to get a non-bubble season in.

These players aren’t at much of a risk.  Now, if they have family that they see who are, they need to be weary of that.

College Football is plugging along because they have large rosters and just play whoever isn’t testing positive.  NFL explodes anytime someone tests positive... that’s not sustainable.

I would like to see proof of the exact release and catch points of the ball.

Of all things the leagues cares about I'd put this at 2nd to last. Right above forcing games to happen no matter the impact to players, coaches or their families.

Good pickup! I played Tonyan in place of Jonnu Smith. Between him and Aaron Jones, I got the 52+ points I needed to win. I didn't think I had a prayer.

It's not been a good season. Baseball depends much more on the summer long unfolding plot, and is much more driven by in-person attendance. All of that was lost.

But it's been a fair season. The 4 teams that are left are 4 of the 6 (or so) objectively best teams. So the idea that some flukey team would steal a World Series by getting hot at the right time isn't happening.

I just think a 14 game season with roughly the same schedules that were contemplated and the same playoff structure is better than one in which certain teams are more harmed than others. Admittedly this is because I see what's happening as a bad thing for the Bills -- in this rare season in which we are objectively one of the best teams, I want the NFL schedule overall to be as fair as possible, and I want the NFL to make all efforts to get in full playoffs and a Super Bowl.

Roger Goodell and the entire NFL look like a bunch of friggin clowns right now. How does a multi Billionaire league that had 6 months to prepare for this not have a legit plan/flow chart laid out for this already?

Morons.....

Everything is on the fly.  There is no, "if this happens, we do this" set of guidelines.

I mean, a pandemic is interfering with the season.  Who could have foreseen that?  (that's my best sarcasm, btw)

Are you kidding?  You know how many millions of dollars FF generates for the NFL?  And I have Josh Allen as my QB.  Championship!!!

And the NFL needs to colonize Saturday.

I don't care about college football. If they need schedule flexibility, Saturday -- hell, even Friday night -- is far preferable to Thursdays and Tuesdays. If Ohio State thinks they can compete against the NFL for ratings let them play on Sunday. I don't understand how we got to this situation.

I see that and it's a piss poor idea. Flow charts are really a simple thing if this or not this,  then this.

You need to have a plan with built in contingency plans. I'd assume a league with revenue as big as the NFL would have hired an entire team of specialist for this matter.

If the NFL goes to winning percentage that further rewards the Titans with missing games against the Steelers and Bills.

That’s why there needs to be a punishment

even if titans get the L and the other teams don’t count it still hurts them for causing the issue

If they made the decision today then its not too late to play the Chiefs on Thursday.  They would have the same time to prepare as they always would have in a normal season.

In terms of days elapsed, I guess that's true, but in terms of advanced planning and how the planning is scheduled, I think it's a late call

I will say, if there's a staff that would be "on it" and "steady as she goes" for all contingencies, I think that would be ours

I think this a pretty poor take. While I admit that my confidence in the NFL is not particularly high, it's ridiculous to think that there is not next-level planning.

Everything is not on the fly, and while they're operating based on new information as new information comes in, that's how decisions should be made.

Just because the general public isn't aware of the plans that the NFL has (and why would we be privy to every detail of a business, it's not like Target has their COVID contingency plan out for the public to see at all times) doesn't mean there is no plan.

It's so funny how the psychology of being a fan v. a consumer works. Fans react so emotionally to everything, it's quite funny.

I'm officially shocked that there aren't announcements on both Bills-Titans and Chiefs-Bills in advance of the 12:00 pregame shows.

Gotta figure they’re runnin’ around League HQ like chickens with their heads cut off.

i just hope they don’t forget that discipline must be meted out.

32 teams and only 2 are causing havoc.
