Glad I already bought my seats for the games I’m going to. I’m going to @Bal, Pit, Cle, NYJ and @Cin (MNF). Those Cincy tickets for comparison sake were $59.00. Got two tix for $157 including fees. Of course it’s Jan 2nd when I’m sure it will be nice and toasty.
machine gun kelly
Poke, a lot of people were a little harsh on you, it I cannot honestly see that many losses without losing Allen. Even if we god forbid lost Allen, Keenum can win a few games with this loaded team. The Titans have regressed, and we should decisively beat them as the Fins and Steelers. The Steelers have the defense, but their offense is still a ? Harris turned out to be a very good rookie back, but he’ll face a much more stout defensive interior. I’ve yet to see Jones or Settle be moved, and Phillips is fast for a large man. I’ll believe Tua when he proves it against other winning teams. All the weapons in the world without a great QB can only get you so far. The next real test which I believe will be a closer game is the Ravens. They will be back to form from 2019 where they went 12 and 13 personnel, and it will work on a lot of teams. It won’t gainer us. We should win, but it will be a tough game. The two I have no idea are the Chiefs and Packers. We’ll see how championship ready this team is after week 8. Between the Ravens, Chiefs and Packers, we’ll know if we are heading towards the SB.

Yes, the chiefs, packers, Vikings, browns, lions, Cinci, Miami, pats should all have better OLs than the rams. It’s not about having a “good” offensive line. My point was, the rams might have a bottom 5 OL…..meaning most other OLs that we face will be better than the rams. While our Dal was wreaking havoc all over the place on Thursday, Noteboom was the usual suspect that night. Everyone had their way with him. Week 2 last season, our pass rush was fierce and looked to be formidable….then we realized it was just the Miami OL that made our pass rush look better than it was….. not saying that will be the case….but one game is one game. While I think our pass rush will be among the leagues best, I don’t feel like it’s realistic to think we’ll have the same level of success every game.
eball
It’s rare to have the kind of night the Bills’ DL had Thursday, and expecting the same or similar results each week will leave us disappointed. Frazier and McD are going to game plan differently for different teams as well. I imagine we’ll sit back against Tannehill but blitz Tua aggressively, for example. It’s going to be an evolution, but there’s no question the early results are incredibly encouraging. Love that Bruce said before the season started that he thinks it is collectively the best DL the Bills have ever had — or at least since he played.

True they might not all be as bad as the Rams' OL and we can't expect that kind of performance every week, but yes it's about who has a good OL and out of that list, maybe half do, and half of that half have other issues on offense. We'll get a better idea after today.

Those will be a lot closer game. Agreed. Any defense that can pressure with 4 is always going to be tough. The Steelers are like that. the ravens will be tough because they blitz a lot but have the corners to play really physical and tight man coverage. I do think all these high shell defenses will soon fade back into oblivion. There is no way they can stop the potent offenses of today so long as the QB is patient. The rules of the NFL now favor the passing teams. The teams that concern me are teams that have offenses like ours. They are just not stoppable thanks to the way games are officiated. If the Bills lose games this year they will be of the 45-41 variety. Not the 17-14 variety. There isn’t enough evidence as of yet that the Bills can shut down a ground and pound team effectively . Bills defense was built to stop the pass . They were a top ranked passing defense last season . However, run defense was middle of road. That’s why Bills got stomped by the Colts with Taylor running free all day and couldn’t contain Henry in the loss to Titans. Our biggest upgrade on defense is Miller. But he’s a pass rusher . So I’m not so sure that we can say that we will shut down a ball control team at this point . 1

Both new DTs, Daquan Jones and Tim Settle, will help clog the middle and allow the LBs to make tackles. Shaq is a DE that plays strong against the run. No evidence yet, but the Bills did make some moves to improve and be more stout against the run. As mentioned, play with a lead and make these teams throw. That is a key. 2

I believe they made big upgrades, but as mentioned before they need to know when the Nickel is not effective or needed. Teams are gonna try to establish the run vs. us and Taron can't handle the bigs backs. IMO if Frazier really wants to get mad respect, he should be able to form a 4-3 and adjust to the particular opponent. I'd also like to see Bernard in action..... Can you imagine playing a team like the Titans or Balt., etc. and having an instinctive head hunting LB blowing up a running game?

Ralonzo
DaQuil is the anchor against the run Star wasn't. Settle and J Phillips are upfield disruptors. Von actually grades out incredibly well against the run. Lawson is known as a solid contain defender on the edge. The key loss is Harry, an excellent run defender. If DaQuil replaces him/Star for a wash, that's terrific and so far he looks good. But the rest of last years replacements - Addison to Lawson, Hughes to Von, Obada/Star/Zimmer to Settle/Phillips, I think you can call an upgrade vs run and pass.
