london_bills
I did today watching the highlights.. They (cbs, all sports channels) have the visuals and sound mixed live creatively for broadcast. It's subtle but they are very clever the mixers on the live sports feed.. When the Bills scored and you see Allens family celebrating.. they 'drop the sound out' so that the mix of a small section of away supporters in the crowd comes through more. (Might literally be Allens family). It changes from the whole crowd sound on the main wide shots, so you can hear this small section and it really highlights the underdog, away thing.. They mix throughout the game between the loud home supporters and the Bills audio support they choose to. If you notice on the throw to Davis in the EZ they cut to the same audio feed as the Allens Family image (you can hear a few more female voices cheering, just coming through) which makes it feel very emotional when they show Allens family. It's done I think to make the emotional link between his family, mom there rooting for him. It's all done to make you feel like nothing is done if you know what I mean - They are very good at creating an underdog vs giant narrative with it and it adds to the drama. They also mix to the players when there's a TD and when Davis scored the last touchdown you hear Diggs saying 'shut the f'*** up!!!! Protocal69
I held them back right after the game but I did shed one after I thought about how the coaches let Allen down for not securing the win for him.

Buffalo_Stampede
I teared up at 13 seconds. I honestly didn't think there was a chance they'd lose, and I'm as pessimistic as anyone. Then I saw the defense alignment and started screaming immediately. What are they doing! 1
Billznut
Devastated but didn’t shed any tears. I’m also proud that I didn’t break anything or put any holes in the walls. 30-40 years ago, I would have and sometimes did.

oldmanfan
I got emotional not just because of the loss but because of my daughter. She's as big as Bills fan as you'll find, and is planning to move from Orlando to start grad school in the fall. She has a home and a family with the folks at the Bills Backers bar she goes to for every game, and she got very emotional because she knew that Sunday may be the last time she gets to watch a game with those folks. I get it. The previous week, the only positive note was the Bills' destruction of the Patriots. That Friday, we had to put our dog to sleep and on game day we had to euthanize our cat. An absolutely brutal weekend.

zow2
I'm past being sad and disappointed. Woke up today kind of angry. 13 seconds, jeez. McD and Frazier were so outsmarted and out-executed by Reid and Co. Makes me sick since there are countless Bills fans that will probably be deceased by the time the team comes this close again. The hard work in the game was already done. All they had to do was protect 13 seconds for the W.

longtimebillsfan
Total melt down. My wife said she had never seen me like this. This event seemed to be the tipping point for the 60 + years of frustration. (I am 68). For the first time in my adult life, I will not be watching the conference championship or the Super Bowl. I can not watch that punk Mahomes receive all that praise and adulation just because he won the coin toss. If I had the ability to stop being a Bills fan, I would have at the end of that f*****g game. But I didn't cry. So sorry to hear about previous posters loss of loved ones and pets. My heart goes out to you. Edited January 25, 2022 by longtimebillsfan

The Bills' time will come soon enough for a breakthrough. McDermott will have his fair share of doubters. "Can't win big games, sucks in the playoffs." Nah. It's a ton of randomness. The key is to keep making the playoffs year after year and give yourself a chance. Tony Dungy was a playoff loser—until he wasn't. Bill Cowher was a playoff loser—until he wasn't. Andy Reid was a playoff loser—until he wasn't.

You keep this band together (McD, Beane, Allen, etc..) and keep kicking the can. Hopefully, eventually, they break through.

Heitz
I shed a tear or three. Of course in the past 6 months my mother passed, I compound fractured my ankle and have been rehabbing for 4 months and now THIS happened. People talk about feeling cursed, yeah, I understand. And all that said, I'm here today smiling and joking. My heart hurts from that loss, but damn, I still love Buffalo, the Bills, our fans, the crew at Hammer's the highs and lows. I sure don't want to feel this way again, but as a sport fan, guessing I will - but also guessing that ONE day we're all going to get to feel the elation of winning the Super Bowl. Go Bills!!!
billsbackto81
No. But I've experienced a roller coaster of emotions within a 2 minute span. One moment, so proud of Josh One moment, so mad at the defense One moment, so euphoric witnessing our QBs greatness with a little over a minute. One moment, so disgusted with McD and Frazier decisions that ultimately ended our season and Josh's amazing performance. But no tears, just speechless.😔

The Firebaugh Kid
When Gabe scored with :13 left, I was on the floor in tears, giggling uncontrollably the same time. To me, this was our Superbowl. I knew what came next was two much easier match ups. Just getting a taste of that feeling was pure elation. I've seriously never felt so much joy in my life all at once like that. Joy and relief. Having that moment ripped away so fast is going to bother me until they win it all. What an incredible feeling. PS: If anyone knows a good therapist, I'm all ears. Haha.
