As mentioned, that was one lab.  But what is interesting is the way that I have heard it phrased.  It is being reported that Cam has been DIAGNOSED with Covid, not that he has tested positive.  Makes me wonder if he has symptoms.

I'd love a bunch of Tuesday night games. Waiting from Monday to Thursday is already too long for me.

 

I suspect I'm in the minority, because I have no problem watching any two teams...even Broncos Jets. I just love having the game on.

The Chiefs Bills game is almost certainly going to get pushed back to Sunday.  No way the Chiefs can play on Tuesday, Sunday, and then Thursday.  3 games in 9 days would be a disaster.

Theyve kind of been doing whatever they want whenever they want.... large gatherings, restaurants, bars etc.... and that just what we hear. I’d imagine some of these dudes are hooking up, not wearing masks when they should, not following stricter guidelines cause they’ve seemed

to go away and everyone got lax.

 

If they are not going to avoid all this, they’d need to be sequestered but I guarantee the NFLPA won’t do that.

Think about... Cam is a social butterfly. Just watch all his off-season videos. Dude hangs around dozens of dudes all the time. You don’t think this guy has multiple people coming to his house a day? You don’t think he’s going here or there between practice and going home? These guys he has over, you think they socially distance? Lay low?

 

This all stems from not following the guidance....

I’ll never understand why some are so eager to go straight to the worst case scenario.  It’s frustrating to read stuff like this, especially as I’m watching Florida vs South Carolina, with fans in the stands... but yea, NFL is going to cancel the season over a Week 4 hiccup....

Why did they postpone the game just because of Cam? If he pulled a hamstring they wouldn't postpone the game. I presume they are expecting more pats players to test positive now.

Patriots positives, more tests to come

Chiefs positives, more tests to come

Nervousness that positives will still come out of Las Vegas

 

Too many dominoes, and with the weather changing and cases surging across the country, this is more than a hiccup.

cause it’s only going to take 3-4 games being postponed and we are already at 2.... beyond 4 or so, it’s gonna start to be a logistical nightmare being we are only at week 4 of 17.... and that’s just regular season.

Cases can also just stem from something as simple as family though. Schools are open as well, so who knows what someone is bringing home. There are more scenarios than just clubbing, when you don’t have a literal bubble that also involves family, so much can go wrong.

Agree.  The NFL has guidelines and is giving a lot of freedom to the teams to handle this.  If players are not following them and teams won't

take responsibility then the league will need to get tough.  

 

I'm leaning toward IF a player is found to be flagrantly disregarding the rules they should be suspended just like if it was PEDs.

Take some money away is one way to curb some of this.

What many seem not to take into account is that the other sports managed to complete their seasons playing IN THE SUMMER TIME.  And two of them in a bubble, while baseball did it by shortening their season and having the flexibility of playing doubleheaders to make up games.

 

Without bubbles and strict isolation, the NFL will not complete this season.  Right now players are going home to families and girlfriends who are out in the public.  It is inevitable that they will be exposed even if they are doing their best in avoiding the public themselves. 

 

If they were smart, they would let the games play out this weekend and have an emergency plan ready to implement that involves shutting down the league for two weeks to isolate players and essential staff, and restart in bubbles as suggested by Logic.

The Patriots received word Saturday morning of Newton’s positive result during a team meeting. No team personnel are allowed into the building without proof of the previous day’s negative test.

And as a standard procedure, the Patriots also underwent rapid testing and the more thorough lab test Saturday morning, and they were then instructed to remain on standby with their phones ready for further instruction regarding their trip to Kansas City. The rapid, point-of-care tests were all negative. Many players then left the facility and awaited word while the NFL and the Patriots figured out how to proceed.

The rapid test results take about 15 minutes, but they’re not considered as accurate as the lab tests, which will come back Saturday evening. That’s been the standard timeline for the daily tests throughout the season.

The Patriots, who were originally scheduled to play the Chiefs on Sunday at 4:25 p.m., were scheduled to depart for the airport from Gillette Stadium early Saturday afternoon, but the team was in limbo for a couple hours until the league’s decision to postpone the game. The NFL announced the game will be played Monday or Tuesday, although that should be contingent on upcoming test results.
