Tatonka68
I would see if the Bengals would bite on this. Would not give up the farm but under the instance above a 2nd and a late 4th pick I would make the trade. If necessary I would add a conditional 2020 4th or 5th round pick. I'd rather take a young guy and continue the youth movement on offense. 2 minutes ago, CuddyDark said: This is all true but it would be great to have a technician like Green in the room with our young guys. His acumen and feel for the game would certainly be great for our young guys, but Green and it's not his fault, just tends to get hurt at the wrong time. I'd rather use the 2nd round pick on a young player. I'm not completely against Green, I'd just rather use it on a young player. Of course the counter argument could be well anybody can get hurt at any time and I'll concede that. I tend to agree with you, but in their position the Bills have to spend to the Cap floor. I think he'd be the best WR we could get, draft or otherwise. I'd rather have Green's contract then some player who gets the money finally and thinks he can rest. BTW I don't think you could get Green for a 2nd. LeGOATski
Depends on how healthy he is and where his head's at. If we determined he's healthy, motivated and can play 2-3 more years, then yes.
formerlyofCtown
I Voted yes, It would depend on how WRs in the draft look. The draft is supposed to be deep at WR. It isnt so simple as to say we are gonna make this trade. It all depends on how FA plays out. If this was Julio though I make that trade in a heart beat either way. billsfan89
He will be 31, on a sizable contract, and has been banged up lately. I wouldn't be opposed to trading for him but not at the cost of 2 draft picks. If it was a swap of our 3rd for Cincy's 5th or 6th I would strongly consider it. Green I think still might have 1-3 very productive years left. But I am not trading a high 2nd rounder and a mid round pick (which I value more with a regime that seems to know how to draft) for a short term solution at WR that is far from a sure thing high impact player. If the draft compensation were lowered then I would listen as the market for free agent WR's isn't that great and the draft might not produce an impact player. But at the steep asking price of a early 2nd and a late 4th I would rather just draft 2 WR's with those picks.
Dr.Sack
He’s a great receiver who has been pretty durable plus his hands are amazing. He’s great, wants to be greater. Good attitude and turns 31 in July so should have much more in the tank. Assume he has 5 more highly productive seasons in him. He’s in the mold of Jerry Rice & other elite level guys so he has the work ethic and talent to play to 40.

Not even close to true, outside of this year he has barely missed any games. And Greens impact would be 10x whatever a rookie could provide this year. Green is an established stud, our last 2nd round pick on a WR was Zay. Easy choice but he wont be that cheap Edited December 31, 2018 by BillsMafia13

mannc
I love AJ Green, but at his age and with his injury history, I think that's too much to give up. I'd probably trade a 3d for him, but I doubt the Bengals would do it.
BuffaloBillsGospel
I voted no, If I'm trading a top 9 2nd round pick, I'd much rather draft a young WR or trade for a younger WR, AJ green is a fine player and still has serious skills but is also on the decline imo. bobobonators
A player like Green would still have at least 2-3 more seasons great production (easily justifying a 2nd round pick cost).
whatdrought
I would trade for him, but a 2 and 4 seems high. I would trade a 3 and 4. His value is diminished by the fact that it's a deep WR class, there are several players who look very similar to him in speciality and talent (of course that's unproven, but we'll see) and he is coming off injury. SoCal Deek
The Bills need to spend their top draft picks on Offensive Linemen to grow along with Allen. It will pay dividends for years and years to come. Build the roster from the inside out.

So you would trade a high 2nd round and late 4th round pick for a 1 year rental on a player to whom you must pay $12M? I don't see the value there. 4 minutes ago, whatdrought said: I would trade for him, but a 2 and 4 seems high. I would trade a 3 and 4. Likewise - why two draft picks for a 1 year rental at a rate of $12M? Best case...he comes back from the foot injury and plays his ass off, clicks well with Allen and you're in the bidding for a big FA contract with a 31 yr old guy. I think we need to get Allen a couple young guys he can develop with. If you're going to invest heavily in both draft picks and cap space with a trade, need more than 1 year. 2 hours ago, NewEraBills said: No and there are two reasons, 1. I don't like the age. dezertbill
If it was 2015 the answer would be yes. 2018, not for a 2nd and 4th. He'll be 31 when the season kicks off next year and has missed at least 6 games in two of the last three seasons.; 17 and 18 were his worst yards per game average since his rookie year. Plus he has a cap hit of over $15 million at 31 years old and is in the last year of his deal. He'll be a rental. If anything we would be giving Cincy a break by taking on his contract. Considering the Bengals record over the last few years with him at a younger age, I can't see them valuing him that much now. I'm thinking we could get him for a 6th rounder, still drafting a number 1 in 2019 draft. He'll be in the room with our young guys teaching them how to be pros and work ethic. He'll probably contribute more that way than on the field. Edited December 31, 2018 by dezertbill

dezertbill
I would trade a 2nd and 4th for Julio Jones. Coming off a career year, he is 29 and still has 2 years left on his deal at $13 million per year. He would definitely bring a culture change to our WR room. At 29, it would be tough to trade a 1st for him (especially a top 10), because you would potentially giving away the next franchise player for a 2 year rental. I know we are desperate for WR help and there are people on this board that would trade away their first born for Julio Jones. But giving away your future for a couple years has to be measured. Beast
Green is an interesting idea in that the Bills need high end talent and also a veteran to mentor. The cost of picks is the issue. I am not willing to give up our 2nd.

RocCityRoller
If the Bills were a year or two further along, yes. As for now, with a complete youth movement underway, no. Keep building the base. Get the O-line corrected, JA another year, draft another young WR to get a year or two in and look for this type of move when further along like Lofton. Buffalo86
Green is a great player, but I don't have faith in him staying healthy anymore & would rather use the picks. I wouldn't mind signing Golden Tate and/or John Brown, who was having a (re)breakout season until Flacco went down. Geronimo Allison is another guy who was off to a hot start until he got hurt, though I believe he's a restricted free agent.
DuckyBoys
Bengals might like to get something for him if he is not in their long term plans. Maybe they might unload his 2019 salary for a 4th or 5th round pick. Bills certainly have the cap space to absorb 15 mill for a true #1 wr. He fits in maybe they can structure a deal for 2-3 more years
