An organization with any sense of responsibility for their employees’ safety would treat them as human beings and shown leadership and earned respect by taking much more immediate action. This is evidenced by the fact that he is laying in a hospital bed in critical condition having to be intubated. Oh F***! This is the worst thing that can ever happen to a player, his family, a team or their fans. Its like citicizing how a person grieves. Im devastated by this situation 3

There was some impact as Higgins lowered his head, but to this degree of damage is hard to understand. I've seen this once before in professional football where Tom Pate of the Saskatchewan Roughriders died on the field at Ivor Wynne stadium in Hamilton against the Tiger Cats about 50 years ago. In this case I strongly feel Demar will make a recovery. If anything is of benefit it is NFL players' superior physical conditioning. I'm not going to think any other way. that’s the thing… this kind of contact happens about 20-30 times per game. It was a matter of time before the contact and force was “just right” to cause something like this, but you figure it’s a 1-in-5,000,000 occurrence

UKBillFan
Obviously our key concern is with Damar and his family and rightly so, and of course the rest of the Bills coaches, backroom staff and players going through this. But thoughts and prayers going up for Tee Higgins as well. He made a football play; there was nothing overly nasty or horrible about that challenge. It wasn't his fault - and he must feel awful right now. Edited January 3, 2023 by UKBillFan 2

babulator
Statement from the NFL: NFL STATEMENT ON BILLS-BENGALS GAME Tonight’s Buffalo Bills-Cincinnati Bengals game has been postponed after Buffalo Bills’ Damar Hamlin collapsed, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced. Hamlin received immediate medical attention on the field by team and independent medical staff and local paramedics. He was then transported to a local hospital where he is in critical condition. Our thoughts are with Damar and the Buffalo Bills. We will provide more information as it becomes available. The NFL has been in constant communication with the NFL Players Association which is in agreement with postponing the game.

Brand J
The Butterfly Effect, I think about it after catastrophic situations. How one single scenario in the day would’ve led to a different outcome. If that stupid college game hadn’t delayed kickoff 15 mins. If Josh and Beasley connected on that pass the same play to Higgins wouldn’t have happened at that exact moment. Man. Prayers to Hamlin, his family, and to the rest of the Bills breathern. 2

YoloinOhio
Dang. I’m just thinking about all of us die hard fans on this board. This team, OUR team, we get to know them, kind of. Like real people, not just football players. We get disappointed when it doesn’t go our way on the field but we are always here, they are OUR guys. Seeing Josh, diggs, Tre with tears streaming down their face. The human emotion behind the jersey. It’s surreal. I feel helpless but I feel this fan base does great things and we will get Damar through this! But it’s wrong on many, many levels for the Bills to be punished because it happened to their player, and it’s just as wrong for the guilt trip decision to be offered to Buffalo of “Do you want to forfeit?” For whatever integrity this league and this game still might have, they have to figure out the logistics of this somehow. What they do in response to this will genuinely impact the future of the league. I don't think it's even an option for the NFL.
