CSBill
My apologies to all the decent people here on TBD, because my mother taught me never to use this word, especially when in reference to people. BUT, this is as “stupid” as it gets here at TBD. Talk about overreaction Monday. This Poll is the new poster boy for “Overreaction Monday.” I will not lower myself to participating in the vote. Yes, mom, some things deserve it: This is STUPID, just plain STUPID! Edited November 14, 2022 by CSBill 2

I remember listening to an interview with Terry Pegula when they were both hired. Terry said both will report to him. He said Brandon has final say on shaping the roster (draft/FA) and McDermott has final say when it comes coaching the team (practices, game day decisions, who plays and who doesn't stuff like that). I guess it would be Terry's call.

Donuts and Doritos
Wasn't Sean Payton teaming up w/ TB12 to go somewhere? If they come as a set & Tommy puts on a Bills uni, I will be out. I just can't. Plus there was bounty gate, feels Bellichick dirty. No thanks.

The overreactions on this board are comical. He didn't have Brandon Beane as his GM. Many of those years the Saints were in "cap hell" and Drew Brees, despite his gaudy stats, committed a ton of turnovers. Unlike Allen, Brees was strictly a pocket guy. There was no other dimension to his game. 4 hours ago, MJS said: Not only that. Brees was throwing for 5,000 yards in those seasons. He had elite QB play and was still having losing seasons. Way worse than anything McDermott has done. He had one of the best QB's in NFL history and continually choked in the playoffs. He won one ring. The myth of Drew Brees...take a look at his turnovers and remember that Drew was strictly a pocket passer. Those gaudy stats came at a price that too many choose to ignore.

Honestly, in the last 15 years, I can' think of a team that was more hyped to win it all, finish with a top 3 record, and only made the Super Bowl one time. What upgrade do you think we are getting with him? This board kills me after a loss tbf, one game was the freak Minneapolis miracle play and the other loss was due to a blatantly missed PI by the rams. How many years? This is already year 5, 4 of which productive, 3 superstar prime years. So are you okay wasting 4 prime years? 5? Elway won Championships in his last 2 seasons, and his stats we're pedestrian in those Super Bowls. Ironically they won rings because they didn't ask Elway to carry the team on this back anymore. Sound like a familiar situation? Different Era, sort of, but the concept is the same. edit- Manning got a ring at 40, similar stats to Elway in the SB, and Manning wasn't more than okay all season. T master
Here we go again FIRE THEM ALL LETS START ALL OVER REBUILD THE TEAMS COACHING STAFF !! If you want to say bring Payton in as a offensive consultant or even the offensive coordinator i'd say that might work but McD has brought this team from the bottom of the league to the top & by doing what the Bills did for 17+ years by everytime there is a problem firing the coach is not the thing to do . Stability is a really good thing can we not learn anything from teams such as the Steelers, the early Cowboys & other teams that have not fired every coach after 3 or 4 years to go into another rebuild . I guess not in Buffalo some didn't learn a thing from the past lets keep the incompetence going ... 1

He was able to get an extra win or two with the roster they had already, so they made the playoffs (when they probably shouldn't have). McD has cost this team more than he's won this team. 2
FilthyBeast
I've said all along, anything short of a SB and you have to take a hard look at this current regime and what they truly bring to the table going forward. And if a nightmare scenario plays out and this team doesn't even make the playoffs not sure how the Pegula's can simply accept that. Even backing into a WC spot and going one and done is the same thing IMO. Just remember, in years past nobody wanted the Buffalo job for many obvious reasons including previous ownership. But if I'm a top HC candidate and see McD fired after this year, I'm begging my agent to secure an interview with the Bills and you will see every top candidate out there positioning themselves for the job.

And he is a great offensive mind. But few men have lost more playoff games to less talented teams than Payton. Bimmer323i
If we were to hire a new coach no matter who it is it would probably set our franchise back at least a couple years… idk about anyone else but I don’t wanna go through that crap again… I think everyone needs to just chill smoke a joint or something and see what happens the rest of the year
CEN-CAL17
Sean Payton is 100% a warm weather coach!!!! He will never opt to live anywhere like Buffalo. Charlotte NC is pushing it!!! San Diego, Tampa, Atlanta… places like that. Buffalo is laughable to him. He’s a big beach guy. Owns a house and stays here near Grayton FL. Mat68
Hard to argue with what Mcdermott and Beane have built. Sean Payton is an excellent coach and turned the Aints into a Superbowl winning franchise. A one and done playoff run and this is a reasonable question to ask. Josh Allen and a #1 defense should result into more. I expect Mcdermott to turn it around this year and have a deep playoff run.

JerseyBills
I love love McDermott but the thought of the firepower that could produce is overwhelming. We have 8 regular season games left and at least 1 playoff game. Alot can change in 2.5 months and it took some very flukes plays for a 8-1 team to beat us. Only Terry can answer that. It's not just McDermott as Beane also needs to share the blame. We are one of the worst teams in short yardage situations. We rely on Josh to do too much because we don't have a great run game. Beane has been the GM for 5 years now and the OL is still a problem. I think that McDermott has far more power with this team than Beane. His drafts are a tell tale sign. He values defensive backs above all else and proved this when he traded Mahomes to the Chiefs before Beane was even there. This team needs blockers and wide receivers. Sadly, McDermott shows no signs of caring that much about them. Edited November 14, 2022 by Bill from NYC
