Orlando Tim
There a few levels I can see the doctor saying he does not have a concussion, all predicated on dolphin organization not sharing full info with doctor 1) not seeing video, that alone should have required he go into protocol and be done for day. 2) delay the exam for 15 minutes until he gets his wits about him 3) doctor being given a strict set of standards that the NFL and NFLPA agreed to, which Tua did not fulfill. I would be shocked if a doctor would put his license on line to help the dolphins win the game.
quinnearlysghost88
I would like to see figures on times a player has shown concussion-type symptoms on the field and they are evaluated and allowed to continue playing in the game. Same. And honestly I’m not even complaining that we had to Tua. It’s just fair play. We had to pull Josh some years ago vs the Pats at home in a close game we lost by 6. Fair is fair. I couldn't give a rat's ass about how Tua coming back affected the game. This is a 24-year-old (young) man who has his entire career and life ahead of him. It is ABUNDANDLY clear that he should not have been allowed to return to the game. Even if this independent neurologist cleared him, someone on the Dolphins staff should have immediately asked, "What? Are you f*cking kidding me? Did you not see that this kid was literally out on his feet just minutes ago??!" Someone has to advocate for the long-term safety of these players. Especially the high-profile ones - AKA, the ones who line the pockets of the NFL/Owners. This situation has made clear that the current concussion "protocol" rules don't do that across the board. 2

When your back flares up, the last thing you’re going to do is sit like that.
H2o
I wish they'd stop with the Tua back injury bs. When Milano hits him, he whiplashes, and his head slams into the ground. He gets up, goes to walk, shakes his head, and proceeds to wobble like a punch drunk boxer. The fact that these idiots in sports media are feeding the story is stupid af. co_springs_billsfan
As Bills fans we really need to lay off the Dolphins and Tua here. None of us has given Tua a medical exam. And it's not like the Dolphins have any recent history circumventing the NFL's rules

Freak-O
If he has a back injury that makes him lose the ability to walk he definitely shouldn’t be allowed to play football.

LabattBlue
For days now I have been studying the thread title, and still can’t wrap my arms around what was violated in regards to the concession protocol. Did Tua grab a hot dog and a beer prior to being checked out by the doctors, when protocol dictates no eating prior to seeing the medical staff? The unspoken truth is that most fans, media, network execs, team management, owners, fellow players.........basically anyone with a vested interest in the quality of the game..........don't want players to have to leave games for getting their "bell rung" like that. It's why it's so hard to actually enforce.
Ralonzo
They have to investigate this in the light of day now, after a pretty regular tackle causes a stretchering. Its pretty serious if he is going to level 1 trauma. The NFL needs to not cover this ***** up though. If they did their job last week this might not have happened. Here is the other thing... if his back got hurt so bad that he collapsed on the field but didnt find it necessary to get xrays, mri's, ct scans? Come on now.
Herc11
The worse part is he just hit his head in the same manner and his brain suffered a second injury on top of a pre-existing brain contusion. blacklabel
Dolphins are gonna ruin that kid. The BS they pulled last week with the back injury is abysmal. The dude slammed his head, then showed telltale signs of a concussion and they go, "oh uh, it was this back thing." Frickin' crap. And now tonight he takes a shot and needs to be taken off on a stretcher. Absolutely eff the Dolphins. Hope they lose every game, McDaniel gets fired and they lose draft picks for being negligent, irresponsible jerks. Clearly player safety doesn't mean crap to them considering they designed their stadium renovations to force the opponent to bake in unbearable heat. A "genius move" according to ol' Tua.

CTE could have cancelled pro football.........it's put a big hit on youth football enrollment.........the league had done a pretty good job of limiting the amount of nasty concussions that we see by being extra careful in recent years. But leave it to the douchebag Dolphins organization that has spent the last couple years acting like rules don't apply to them to pretend like the concussion crisis never happened and let Tua get annihilated 5 days after clearly suffering a concussion against Buffalo. 2 1

Captain Caveman
I know people are upset with the Dolphins, but really the doctor that cleared him needs to lose his job. Most NFL teams would possibly skirt rules to try and pull out a win, and the independent physician is supposed to be a safeguard against that. He failed at his job and is responsible for Tua's health.
