Guy has made a ton of money including $100M from Atlanta guaranteed. He gets that no matter what. Plus with the investment they made in him I'd say he's got 2 years in Atlanta. By that time he's 37 and likely at the end of the road anyway. Not only that but he is 35 and coming off serious injury. No telling of he's going to be the same. And if you believe, as many do, that it's best to let a rookie QB sit and learn from a seasoned vet for a year or two before he takes the reins, then what the heck. He left the comfort and familiarity of the Vikings and having Justin Jefferson to move to a new city, under the assumption that the four year deal he signed meant that he'd be the starting quarterback in Atlanta for the next four years. Instead, he's now essentially on a two year deal. Any time he or the team struggle, there will be calls from the fan base for the shiny new rookie. And on top of all that, pick #8 was a premium draft spot that could've netted an incredibly talented player. Football is the ultimate team game You can absolutely win with Kirk cousins.. he's much better than Brock purdy Him taking ridiculous contracts hurts the team around him because they can't build around him as well.. he's a good quarterback who gets overpaid But he can certainly win in the NFL..
