I was just playing off of that comment. Oh, got it. Still…This is akin to digging up JA rookie season threads doubting his abilities. No one could predict JA’s rise. I'm not the one who dug it up and I wasn't trying to pile on - I was just making a lighthearted joke based on some game-time dialog. However, when this was posted, Hines was doing absolutely nothing and had a lot of people, outside this board, scratching their heads. Well, fwiw, imo, a lot of folk get quite impatient concerning personnel usage, I admit to going down that road on occasion, on this board and to include the talking heads out there, we all know less of what is actually going on than we spout off about, sure it gets frustrating at points, but it is no different on with other teams, after all, as much as we like football it is only a game, and in the grand scheme of things, not so important, something that was out front and center not so many days ago…, GO BILLS!!! What a Tuel
1 hour ago, Bandito said: I agree. But when he was traded for most on here thought he'd be the man as an RB. Which I have been proven right about per usual-he is third string there No one thought he'd replace Singletary as RB1, or even Cook as RB2. I seem to remember Beane or McDermott commenting that having him on returns frees someone else up to focus on receiving, not sure if it was Shakir or McKenzie. 57 minutes ago, Bandito said: Thank you!!!! 100000000% Can't like this enough. What if I told you threads like this were intense vitriolic responses to personnel decisions by the Bills management and you are getting back what you are dishing out? We gave the colts very little for Hines and vastly improved our return game even before today's game. It isn't a trade that needs to be criticized, and wasn't an "experiment" to replace our RBs. 2

The expectation when we got him was someone who was actually going to be a mismatch on offense. I don’t blame Hines for not being used, I blame Dorsey. I don’t think he can consistently design an offense that can create mismatches or scheme guys open. 3 1

Scott7975
I been telling people since we got him that he is fast and explosive. Dorsey just doesnt know how to get people in this supposed complicated offense. Perhaps its time that they get rid of this complicated offense and just do ***** that works like every other team does. I keep seeing receivers in the same area all the time. Its stupid. Edited January 9, 2023 by Scott7975

Actually my expectation when we traded for him is we now have a punt returner and kick returner Who is reliable And that he can be an emergency running back if cook or Singletary go down… with a couple change of pace touches Returning kicks and punts is the most dangerous job in the NFL… He needs to stay healthy and focused on that … 3-5 touches after is gravy 1
Rocky Landing
That opening kickoff TD skewed the time of possession in the Pats* favor, and put additional pressure on our defense. In addition, it delayed the offense from getting into rhythm. And then Hines had the audacity to do it again! Almost cost us the game. Bench Hines! K-9
He solidified the return game immediately upon his arrival, so I’m grateful for that. But I’m really looking forward to him being used in the role they wanted McKissic and McCaffery for and that is as a receiving threat from the LOS lined up against safeties and LBs. He can be a matchup nightmare if used correctly by Dorsey.

As a returner he has but not as a RB as he is 3rd string Friend, Hines was specifically brought in to address our KO/PR issues. Noone expected him to be the man at RB, or to unseat Singletary or Cook as our starting RBs. There's nothing wrong with eating a little crow now and then. Hell I eat it all the time, and I find it you wash it down with a nice bottle of Chianti.....it can actually be quite satisfying! BillsFanSD
He's been a solid contributor to the return game ever since he arrived in Buffalo. Setting aside yesterday's performance, if all he does is return kicks competently, that's fine with me. We don't need another RB right now, but it's great to have somebody playing ST who I trust more than McKenzie. 2
