JohnNord
This came across my timeline. Apparently former Bills DC Walt Corey died today. I’m a little surprised we didn’t hear anything from the Bills. Corey was a former Texas/Chief and coached there for 12 years before coaching in Buffalo. As far as a DC, the Bills defense certainly had their moments. But like a lot of players on the 1994 team, Marv probably kept Walt around as DC a few years longer than he should have. I didn’t realize that after he left Buffalo in 1994, Corey coached the Saint DL under Ditka.

Mr. Wonderful
He was DC for some pretty good defenses under Marv Levy. May you and your trademark swizzle stick rest in peace.

BillsfaninChicago
Really sad to hear that. One of the more memorable coaches for me. I loved how he would have a lucky swizzle stick that he would chew until during each game until the Bills lost.

dollars 2 donuts
I remember when some company sent him a box of about a thousand swizzle sticks just so he wouldn’t have to worry about where he’d get them. Good bye. Swift travels to the next destination.

MarkyMannn
Walt could coach up great D plans against the unstoppable Dan Marino. Recall Marino had some crazy streak of not being sacked like 2 years. Walt's D broke that with Jeff Wright. Saw him a handful of times at the West Seneca town park main ball diamond Edited October 25, 2022 by MarkyMannn
Never NEVER Give-up
Not a great coach. With all the studs he had at his disposal, he should have crafted a scheme to take advantage of them and win a super bowl. Example, Jeff Wright was a gamer - but at his size, he shouldn't have been playing 'nose' on a 3-man line! That said, Walt was a very nice man an my condolences to his family. RIP Coach.
