Such a funny, likeable guy. One of my favorite all-time Bills QBs. It may be his 150+ IQ that helped him perform in the league more than any physical ability that he had. It also didn't hurt that he was tough as nails. He always kept the games interesting, for better or worse. It was hard not to like the guy.

A guy like that who puts the team first and understands his role will have a roster spot as long as they are able to perform.
Freddie's Dead
Feeling a mixture of emotions right now. Sad that Fitz is done, happy for him that he could go out relatively healthy and wealthy. I loved watching Fitz play ball. He always gave 110% of whatever he had. That willingness to give up his body to get that first down. Diving headlong to score when he could have slid to save his health. But that wasn't Fitz. A natural leader who made everyone around him better. Here's a link to Fitz's best game as a Bill. It's where the Cheats were unmasked as the sore losers they are. Watch the last two minutes as they try every dirty trick in the book, taking multiple cheap shots at Fitz, only to have Fitz laugh in their faces. Enjoy the greatest win of the drought era.

Made over $82.1 Million in his career...not too shabby. Crazy part, he would have added ~3500+ yards to that last year had he stayed healthy. Kind of a bummer he didn’t, but what a career. SageAgainstTheMachine
Fitz' comeback win against the Pats will always be one of my favorite Bills games. We had lost 15 times in a row to them and when the Pats went up 21-0...if there was such a thing as having less than a 0% chance that would've been it. But somehow he did it. For those of us too young to really remember Kelly, Fitz is the 2nd best Bills QB we've seen. A well deserved retirement. Perhaps the most universally liked player in league history? 1

Either way never heard of a backup/journeyman doing this especially one that's played for nearly a 3rd of the teams in this league. Fitz isn't a normal Journeyman. His heart is everything that the Bills have stood for as long as I have been a fan. Sure he wasn't the best player, and he didn't have a ton of success, but the guy is 100% all the time, and that is why he should retire a Bill.
GreggTX
He had some great moments in his career. I think the HOF chatter is absolute nonsense as was the suggestion of putting Kyle Orton on the WOF. Fitz is smart. I could well imagine him as a future coach, GM or as a sports commentator. I once heard him say he wanted to be a portfolio manager on Wall Street, but that would sully his good reputation. 3 hours ago, blitzboy54 said: I hope he retires a Bill.
