SCBills
I know now everyone is a cap expert.  Im not either, but WE ARE NOT PAYING HIM 120M.    Von Miller is not on this team at age 38.  This is a 3 year deal base with us likely eating some dead cap in the following 3 years.   Keep in mind, teams typically carry some dead cap year to year.  We just already know we will have some in ‘25, ‘26 & ‘27.   Hence the front loaded guaranteed $$ so the pain down the line, with an exploding salary cap, isn’t something we can’t manage.   Edited March 17, 2022 by SCBills

Buffalo03
Screw it, we couldn't get McCaffery, go get Saquon to. I think Saquon is more done but we would essentially get him on a one year contract for $7 million and then go from there. And if we could get him for a 4th, why not? Edited March 17, 2022 by Buffalo03 2
RyanC883
man this is awesome. Â Really hope we can get Jerry back. Â He is likely too expensive but I hope we offer him a contract of a smaller amount so he can choose. Â Jerry has never had a HOF across from him. Â They both could get 10 plus sacks. ZERO.  The contract could just as easily be for $500 million over 6 years, with the last three years being salary of $150 million/year.  Hate to break it to you, but this isnt Beane's first rodeo. Its his job. Call me crazy, but I'm betting that this "overzealous and inexperienced GM" knows a bit more about NFL football an cap management than you. Agreed, it isn’t just 6 years 120 straight up, there will be nuances with the contract.

Stupid and he really got fleeced & overpaid! They need better offensive lineman, a cornerback or two, a really good linebacker and another stud wide receiver like DK Metcalf. Also, a better running back then just Singletary. Von Miller will bring a lot of national news and coverage to the Bills. Being relevant and talked about - usually means you make mo' money. It's a smart move in my mind. There's always risk, but he can do a lot for this defense - he'll have a good impact on the team. I like the move, even though it was clearly an expensive one. Von is good, but not that great anymore and 32!  $120 million for 6 years even if it only ends up being 4 years at $17 million per, ridiculous!  $10 million a year... maybe I'd be on board, but welcome Von! Well, we only have a 2 year window and the other 23 D-linemen that we drafted all suck, so what else were we supposed to do? We needed a pass rusher. Beane obviously can’t hit on DE’s so we needed a FA. At least he recognized it and fixed the problem.  Now we should trade Edmunds and dump Beasley. Then we can sit back and relax.
