They weren't a very good RAC team even then..........but Allen averaged a ridiculous 3.14 seconds before throwing which was statistically the highest above expectation in the league...........so he was getting very good protection and often "waiting" receivers open.

Or Allen was buying extra time with his mobility.  A lot of his big chunk plays were throws after he exited the pocket.

As much as I hate to ever credit @BADOLBILZ for anything, since he does plenty of tooting his own horn and doesn't need anyone to help him...he's right about the passing game. It is far less explosive than last season. The stats -- both classic and advanced -- bear this out.

Everyone figures the Bills need to upgrade the guard spots and maybe the running back room in the offseason, and they probably will. Adding an explosive receiver or two, though, is an underrated need. I love Diggs and Davis, and McKenzie has value as a role player. Sanders will likely be gone and Beasley has lost some explosiveness. We need to add some POP to the WR room for the 2022 season.

Part of that is the way defenses have played us this year.  Some teams werent capable or didnt play that way and the Bills lit them up.  The Jets for one did not play the cover 2 shell or 2 deep.

What they struggle with? Other than the INT's the Bills moved the ball at will and Falcons couldn't stop it. Oline looked good too

The first half they should have dominated but did not.  The pass rush pressured Allen.

Is that the same Miami team that went on to win 7 straight games after their loss in Buffalo?

Look at the teams they beat.  Other than that, the Bills were not crisp in that game.

I posted this elsewhere, but it got buried.

Did Star play yesterday? I didn’t see him on the inactives, but also didn’t notice him once on the field.

Yeah I saw him in the game at times.

Is it crazy of me if Bills lose and I'm not worried about the playoffs? Josh Allen has been playing like turd the past 4 or 5 home games. I think Allen and the team plays better on the road because they don't have to show off the home crowd and they will be more focused and motivated.

Actually thought he played excellent against the Patriots in a wind storm early December. Played OK against the Panthers, and struggled against Atlanta…. Agree with someone who said he was reading his own press clippings this past week and was overconfident in this game.

Let's hope he reads the negative press clippings so his head will not get bigger and get more motivated.

I rewatched the game and he honestly looked good to me…never would’ve guessed his stat line was that bad.  Two of those picks weee pretty unlucky…that last one looked like gabe was wide open for a big gain if the ball didn’t get tipped.  That second pick seemed like Beasley got jammed and just gave up on the route but he could have gotten there…gotta throw that one before he makes his break so it really wasn’t a bad decision. First pick he should’ve thrown away though

Don't let @JoPoy88 see this post, he might get angry

Thanks, man. I swear, it seemed like I didn’t see him out there once, and yet I felt like I saw AJ and Eli (same snap count) a lot more.

Yea, agreed.
I feel like the Bills send subtle clues and messages about their intentions when it comes future roster transactions.

Gutsy move or rookie ignorance?  lol

I take that as a rookie who grew up watching Tom Brady win Super Bowls and considered the greatest of all time. Being on the same field much less intercepting a pass from Brady was a special moment. Rookie also probably understands there are no guarantees in life, enjoy it while you can.

Yeah he's really turned it on this year, decent returner I think as well. It's worth a look IMO.

Seriously doubt Vegas will ever let him leave, but imagine Hunter Renfrow on this Bills team? Younger, quicker, and always seems to make the big play.

Just saw a local weather report here in Rochester about a front coming through on Sunday 🙄. Said they wernt sure of the timing yet as it's early, but could produce rain, wind and potentially snow for the game depending on when it arrives. Seriously, can we just catch a break

I have to think this is very bad for Zach Wilson. At least the bills can play defense and run the ball.

Weather has affected our opponents more negatively than the Bills. Our opponents' collective team passer rating through 8 home games this season is 60.9.

That’s less about weather and more about the quality of QBs that have played here. Wentz is at the top of that sorry list.

Last year, opponents had an 82.24 rating in Orchard Park (well below league average) and over 90 when the Bills played on the road. The Bills played some very good QBs at home last year too (Mahomes, Wilson, Herbert, Goff, Roethlisberger). Allen's passer rating at home last year was over 100 -- a differential of nearly 20. In the postseason last year, over two games opponents had a 77.3 rating and the Bills team passer rating was 95.2. Again, differential is what matters.

Basically, over this season, last season, and the 2020 playoffs, the Bills team passer rating differential advantage hovers at around 20 in every instance.

Love it.  Regardless of what sort of career Echols carves out, he'll have that memory of intercepting the GOAT for all time.  It was a total show of respect, and I'm glad Brady didn't turn him down.

don’t you love how consistently the worst window of weather every week in Buffalo is exactly during game time?

BTW, wind gusts at game time are estimated to be around 30 MPH.

We never worried about weather in the Kelly/Marv era.  We actually welcomed bad weather.

It just shows how much the game has changed, and how differently the two Bills teams are built.    The "If its too tough for them its just right for us" mentality is gone.

Daboll better have a run game, with a run package, in the game plan.  Not only for this week but for next week as well.  We need to

have a more diverse attack and not depend on Allen passes and Allen runs for 90 % of our yards.

I really like Hunter Renfrow as well. Would love him as a Beasley replacement if he ever hits FA.

A few things were the reason for this:

*  The Bills had a HOF RB and a back-up RB that would have started for most teams.

*  The Bills had an O-line with multiple all pros.

*  The expectations of QB play and offensive production in bad weather in Rich Stadium games was a lot more realistic then the video game expectations of today.  As I showed yesterday with a post detailing some of Kelly's less then great home games, the Bills often won these games sloppy and absent "good" QB play. The key here is understanding that "good"QB play in bad weather conditions is a completely different thing then hen the weather is good.

Going forward next season the Bills have to add a BIGGER RB to complement Singleterry; a second TE that can block/catch the ball; one BIG nasty guard and at least one BIG WR. If thy do this they will be able to handle the bad weather that is Buffalo in November - January.

Yeah, but to win the Super Bowl a great passing game is a must.  Weather will always been good for SB given the venues, like LA this year.  Ground and pound not ideal in the ultimate game.
