Report from the French Quarter

We arrived in NOLA on Sunday and have watched the build-up of Bills fans on the street to the point where I think that half of the people in the French Quarter are wearing Bills gear. Lots of “go Bills” and occasional Let’s Go Buffalo chants. I’m amazed at the variety of Bills gear out there and really need to up my game. What are others seeing?

My friend has been sending videos all afternoon - Let's Go Buffalo chants in the streets, Bills fans and brass band parades, McD out talking with fans.  Looks like an epic time!!

Yep, just got some texts from a friend saying Buffalo has taken over. We had entertained the idea of going but other stuff came up. I’m sure it’s an awesome time, hopefully it’s the same case at this time tomorrow night…😬

So has New Orleans recovered from Hurricane Ida?  That was just a couple of months ago, and the damage seemed very severe.

I'm glad Clark is having a good time there.  I came to love that city from making so many trips there when my daughter went to Tulane.  As the song says, "I know what it means, to miss New Orleans."  You can keep Bourbon Street as far as I'm concerned, but there is so much great about the place if you stay away from vomit alley.

Can’t believe how many fans are there

Did anyone ask them to play the Shout song?

Great time so far.  We made it down to the parade at Ryan's pretty much immediately after checking in and dumping our luggage.  I figured this was just going to be a bunch of fans milling around, but marching through the French Quarter with a band and police escort was really cool.

They needed like four times the bar staff, but it was the middle of the afternoon on a Wednesday so let's cut everybody some slack I guess.

Now we just need to kill a few hours before going out for Thanksgiving, and do our 1/11th to get this nonsense sorted out.

Having a great time here in Nola.  Have enjoyed talking w Saints fans. Had a couple beers w a 45 year old guy who said 90’s Bills were his favorite except for Saints.   He talked in depth about everyone from Kent Hull to Carwell Gardner.

Also sat w 2 long time bartenders who told me no one travels like Buffalo, except Wisconsin.  They said Packers and Badgers might have us beat in crowd size and alcohol consumption. Also said Bills and Packers are good tippers.

They don’t like fans from Chicago or Boston.  Too obnoxious

Have fun!

My GF made me realize the "no mask" aspect of the crowd, the simple normality of it all. So good to see people celebrating, having wholesome fun, in groups, free, bonding, being... humans ha ha.

A victory to top this off is what I wish you ;) and all of us!

Yeah I haven't been in a bar that packed since college (I'm 49).  Not a mask to be seen.  Enjoying my triple-dose of Moderna.

I'm connecting in Newark on my way to other places.  When I left Dulles, it was packed with Bills fans and the TSA guy at the checkpoint told me I was one of MANY Bills fans he's seen in the past few days (I'm wearing a Bills hoodie).  I also ran into a NO native on the shuttle to my gate, who told me, "you're going to kill us.  And our city is FILLED with Bills fans right now."

Will be back to traveling to every game next year. I was planning on it this year. But too many things in life going on. So only going to Buffalo for the Home games. Will be back traveling to all games next year. After our Move is all complete and settled in.
