RobbRiddick
Well in the first half of the game thread vs Miami there were lots of posters saying they hoped Daboll would get hired this offseason as they want him gone, so they should be happy with this news 1 1
Rc2catch
I am ok with Daboll leaving. The base is set for this offense with Allen. It’s not like a new guy is just installing a completely new system they would just add on to what Allen knows and likes to run. Daboll has his days but sometimes he’s a really bad play caller. I think he’d be a great fit for Chicago 5 5
Rico
Could be a deal-breaker though if the Bears insist he makes something out of Justin Fields. 1

Plus, if the season goes as we hope & expect, no one can talk to him til mid February I believe the league changed the rules and clubs can now virtually interview guys the last 2 weeks of the regular season. Lemme look https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-teams-can-now-interview-head-coaching-candidates-during-last-two-weeks-of-se Quote Another notable change revealed in Tuesday's memo is that, beginning in the upcoming hiring cycle, teams are allowed to interview a candidate for a head coach position during the final two weeks of the regular season with the consent of the employer club. The interview can be virtual, and once the employing team gives consent, the candidate will be able to interview for any open head coach role. Of course, depending upon the situation with regard to seeding the Bills could refuse permission I guess 1

ProcessAccepted
I hope he gets his shot at some point. I'll be sorry to see him go but he deserves it. I only hope he gets his opportunity with and organization where ownership, GM, fans and media are patient enough to give him a fair chance to complete the changes he'll need to make. If we lose him I'd hate to see him as just another former coordinator/failed head coach.

dpberr
Since George Halas last patrolled the sidelines in Chicago in 1967, only three of the 11 Bears coaches since Halas have +.500 records: Mike Ditka: .631 Lovie Smith: .563 Matt Nagy: .583 Lovie Smith got a raw deal in Chicago in hindsight. 81-63, went 3-3 in the playoffs. That's not too bad. Edited November 5, 2021 by dpberr

I'm aware of that. My statement still stands. Regardless of being interviewed or not, not hiring the best candidate based on skin color is not best for an NFL franchise to achieve success. Back2Buff
The more I watch Daboll and Allen, I'm convinced Allen is just an athlete freak and Daboll isn't all that special. Most of the plays the Bills run are basic and Allen is the one creating after the snap. I also ain't a huge fan of timing of plays being called.
