Im a fan of the Duke but even I think it's time to move on.  We are stacked at the position and it's time to put some fresh blood on the PS to try and develop.

Maybe he goes to the PS but their are plenty of guys they haven't cut yet that they may prefer.

Hopefully that means Wade is healthy and will finally get a shot this preseason.

My prediction is that Duke does not end up on practice squad. My guess he is at best the 9th best WR on the team. 

 

The Duke Williams era draws to a close. 

 

I like the title of this one...

 

It will be interesting to see if he makes anyone's 53.

Can he?  I know if you're released from IR with an injury settlement, the one team you can not resign with is the team that released you.  Not certain if a "waived/injury designation" is completely different or same restrictions?

Duke gave it his best shot in the NFL. 

His biggest chance to make it as a WR in the NFL came in the Houston playoff game. He was targeted heavily. He did not live up to the moment, highlighted by his end zone drop that might have changed the outcome of the game.

Alas, if he wants to get meaningful playing time and contribute, his best avenue to do so might be the CFL.

Thanks for giving it your all, Duke. I'll always remember the game-winner against Tennessee. Happy trails to you.

Teams have played 2 or 3 games so far.  Plenty of time to head north if he has his Covid test & vaccine. He might be in line at the Peace Bridge customs right now.   

 

I remember the day he signed.  Everyone was so excited because NFL free agency hadn't begun and before we signed Brown & Beasley we had the worst group of receivers known to man.

He wasn't on the list of players not seen at Sunday's practice and I don't recall him being announced as injured vs. the Bears

 

He did fall down on a route and the Bills do, I think, have more class than to cut a possibly injured guy and leave him without treatment...if he's waived/injured and not claimed, the Bills are still responsible for his medical treatment and rehab.

The injury was an office intern's sprained wrist.  Too many moves of players to/from the practice squad.

I was really pulling for him, too.  I hope another team snatches him up and he's handled/utilized better than he has been in Buffalo.

More than likely if he is healthy they will give him and injury settlement and release him at some point during the year.
