49ers will trade Jimmy G in exchange for a 1st round pick

Recommended Posts

Maybe a 2nd if they're lucky as he's still 29 and a desperate team may pick up the phone (BEARS).  He is only one 29 and one blown double digit 4th quarter lead away from three Super Bowl wins.

The “will” in this post title is pretty misleading.

It would be like me saying I will marry Beyoncé.

Have you shared your feelings with her? You never know!  🤷‍♂️

Makes sense - always start high and ask for more than you can get.

I can’t imagine they will get it, but makes sense.  When NE doesn’t get a QB maybe you can get something of value for him.

Plus they need to recoup for moving up to 3.

There’s really no downside for the 49ers here...they most likely keep Jimmy G with that salary for 1 more year-he starts the year then eventually gets benched for the rookie then they release him after the season, or they somehow finagle him into a first or second round pick

The Chiefs kept Alex Smith after drafting Patrick Mahomes.  Smith responded with a career year, and it gave Mahomes the time needed to develop on the sidelines.

Green Bay did the same thing (twice) with Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers, and then got an MVP-caliber year out of Rodgers after taking Jordan Love.

Don't just assume the 49ers are guaranteed to trade away Garoppolo, just because of the trade-up.  I truly believe their plan is to keep him for at least another year, while the #3 pick develops on the bench.

Is that a cemetery in the background?  No thank you sir!

Those Cavaliers are known as death traps, so..........makes sense. A jogger could run into these and walk away, and total the car.

Yeah, what they’re saying is that unless they get a first round pick (which would be a great but unlikely haul for him) they’re going to keep him and let the rookie develop behind him for at least a year.
