Antonio Brown Tells Raiders without his helmet no football

I didn't see it as political at all.

I doubt that.  The Raiders gave up a 3rd and 5th.  A 2nd rounder at most probably gets it done.

Word on the street at the time was we were swapping firsts

But

Lets say that is even true...that means no Cody Ford

At this point I woudl even consider THAT a win because I love Ford

To those who say character does not matter - exhibit 1.

I don’t know where his head is at this very moment but I’d take his 11,000 yards and 74 touchdowns even knowing he’d cause some head scratching moments along the way.

If hes he’s looking for reasons to retire, such is life, but he’s had a hell of a lot of reasons for a team to put up with the headaches

WTH was political in what I wrote?!?!

Looks like you saw the name Donald Trump and forgot to read the rest. Limeaid liking an idiotic comment like yours is a given, but stosh?!?

Hope the moderators are smart enough to see my post wasn't political. Geez.

It wasn’t political at all. I have a feeling he’s one of those that only reads something until he comes to one of his trigger words then smashes reply.

Meh, I have my doubts. Why wouldn’t you say it was a good thing Bon Jovi didn’t buy the team because he was the believed, out of the three that bid, that would move the team. (Toronto)

What are you doubting? That my comment wasn't political? How you could see something political in what I wrote is asinine.

Yeah, I do doubt it. Like I said, if you said Bon Jovi your statement would have held water. He was the one that was feared to move the team...not Trump.

And I’ll let it go.

Yes and that helmet is not allowed.

Kelso recommended another helmet for a new designer but it has not got thru NFL: rules people and NFLPA who seem to object to any new safety item.

Limeaid, you got that pretty darn right.

ridiculous, and the players go along with it, plus complain about safety measures on tackling.

Antonio Brown took too many hits to the head and now appears to be suffering from severe CTE.

When it's all said and done, I'd bet his brain is completely mangled, causing severe personality behaviour problems and what appears to be paranoia.

Completely bizarre---just the way I like it!

I think someone from the Raiders should just smash his current helmet while he is away, then just say there are no more to be had.

BTW, I saw one comment in that long Mike Silver twitter thread (hey guys, write and article if you are writing an article) that suggested the story of Brown damaging his feet in the cyro were "debunked".  Usually I wouldn't give some twitter comment the time of day, but that caught my eye.  I did a quick search when I read it and could find no real objection to his frostbite story. Anyone have any info on this?

At first i thought this was all shtick for Hard Knocks. Now I know it's the Raiders. Brown wants out until he can play in Vegas

Brown has gone crazy.

Way too many hits to the head.

AB is clearly mentally Ill. Thank god we didn’t end up trading for this train wreck!!!

No, he's just showing multiple signs of severe CTE.

YUP, prob won't show up to the HOF without a PInk Jacket or some crap. Dude is an absolute head case, I was so happy the trade feel through and this just reinforces it even more.

Just wait until about week 4-6 when he realizes a HOF QB is not throwing to him anymore.

The Pitts org and fans most be loving this crap.

Or he is behind a Peterman Pick Six Special..... I think we should pool together and have Carr take an 'off day' to make this a reality....

Didn't hear much from AB off the field the first eight seasons in the league.  That Burfict hit in the playoffs may have done some serious long term damage.

Agreed.

His personality and behaviour has deteriorated over the years.

Too many hits to the head.

Yes you’ve said that several times already. I, too, love to diagnose medical conditions for people I’ve never met from my keyboard.

counterpoint: maybe AB is just a jagoff and the money and fame associated with becoming the best WR in the league allowed him to, you know, stop caring completely about appearances.

I blame his helmet leaving him prone to head injuries.

Which he clings to because hes a jagoff.

its a vicious cycle

As much as I though the price was right the take a chance on him, I couldn’t imagine this clown in our camp.

Hard Knocks hit this choice out of the park...

I think the league is full of weird dudes. I also think most of the ones down the depth chart are too scared for their livelihoods to let their true colors show.

AB is in the business of AB. Between the head and the feet he’s the most talked about player in the league. That’s great for the “AB” business.

Will it?  You think the Raiders are headed to the playoffs this year?  Next year?

No but I’m betting AB will be AB on the field...all this other stuff is just fun (or, for the majority of the posters in this thread, whistling past the graveyard).

I was breezing through this thread and about to post the same.

AB is a whack job and I'll believe in his demise when I see it on the field.

AB, Burfict and Ritchie (did I leave anyone out?) are guys that Al would have approved of and may have prospered with. In a different era.

He’s thinking of every excuse as to why he might suck now. “I HAVE NO FEET”, “MY HELMET MAKES IT HARD TO SEE”

Next he will be mad that he can’t wear a gold plated jock strap outside his jersey. “WHERE IN THE RULES DOES IT SAY I CANT?! THIS IS DUMB I QUIT.”

I know this was tongue in cheek.  But you actually nailed it.  He knows he wont be nearly as productive.  He's pre-building excuses.  Good call.
