Bills Titans 1999 playoff game on air today 1230

I had my wisdom teeth out the day before and accidentally pulled a stitch knot through my mouth screaming at my television.

I think I'll pass on watching that travesty again.

Johnson had that game won, with one shoe on.

Not a chance as he flat out stunk all year. Hell even in the 1998 WC game against Miami (the year he was halfway decent) Flutie puked all over himself with 3 terrible turnovers

The Rams/Panthers divisional game on prior to this one was a good game. 2004 playoffs. Bulger vs Delhomme. Panthers won to go to their first SB.

I can’t watch the MMM though. Too much. Still.

Funny story. When we lost I took an old desktop telephone (bulletproof att phone) and slammed it against the ground in my basement bar. Blew it up a bit. Picked it up and threw it out my basement door into the backyard.  A couple days later, brought my dog in off her run in the backyard, and attached to the lead was the tangled remnants of the phone.  Found number buttons for the next few years in weird spots in my basement.

It was an illegal play.

Is it just me that feels like 99% of the Bills game on the NFLN are games the Bills lose? Recently, they’ve had the MNF game against TN, the AZ Hail Mary game, against KC, against Cinncy and now the 99 TN playoff game.

On the other hand, it make me so frustrated that the vast majority of these games, the Bills had NO business losing!!!!!

This game was my earliest Bills memory where I was actually a fan and cared about the team. Before that I kind of cared because my dad was a fan, but this was the first season I was actually invested myself.

I was introduced to the heartbreak early. It was excellent conditioning for a Bills fan.

Nfl network has been showing alot of heart breaking bills losses lately. Music city miracle, Vikings game from 2022 and Arizona game from 2020. Surprised they're not killing us with 13 seconds

It would be interesting to rank each team's most noteworthy heartbreaking games. I bet the Bills have the longest list.

I know we have The Comeback game.....the largest comeback in Playoff history.  They show this game from time to time and that's great.

But man.....I think that is the only iconic game that is replayed with regularity that we actually win.  Most of these "classic" games come on that we're in and I just want to wash my eyes out will hot peppers.  We're in a ton of the games, and not one do we actually win.  It's so frustrating.  They play the Chiefs Playoff games, both I would argue we were the better team in and should have won but we give them away.  They play the MCM game.  They play all the freaking Super Bowls.  I'm sure there are others as well, but I just can't change the channel fast enough. I lived through all these games live, I don't need to relive that pain again.  I just wish we'd win a couple of these iconic games, a Super Bowl or two, just to have something to smile about when these games show up.

They've been running the Titans & Cardinals game all week on a loop. Pathetic

Man, NFLNetwork has been KILLING me lately with their throwback game choices! :censored:

MMM today, I saw Hail Murray on the other day, and our 2019 Texans playoff loss was on last week.

Looking at tomorrow's schedule, seriously wtf...

I’ve been watching from the start. Moulds, Reed, Price Riemersma. I wish Josh Allen had these guys

Reed 0 catches that game.  Great career but he was washed up by the end of that year.  He could no longer get open.

Just watched the end of the game. The commentators said the bills should kick it deep and not squib it. So we lost a playoff game with 16 seconds and one with 13 seconds. Maybe we win the Super Bowl with 10 seconds left now

Just watched the end as well...I still think that was a forward pass.

A few things I gather from that game. We had an amazing defense, and it was a shame to waste. Eric Moulds would be an all time great if he ever had a QB. 2002 Bledsoe during the first half of the season was the only time. Lastly, I can’t believe that anyone thought/thinks Johnson was a decent QB. I’m not starting a Flutie vs Johnson debate, just saying the guy wasn’t good enough. QB play was a big reason the 1999 Bills didn’t go far.

It would've been fun to see twitter's live reaction to that decision and game.  Has there ever been a QB competition as passionate and ugly as that one?  I remember wishing I could transform Flutie's brain into Johnson's body.  Josh Allen also happened to be born right before both were signed here so maybe God had too much free time on his hands.

The first & only football game I've ever cried over...

I grew up Catholic & was doing community service for my Confirmation. I was painting the house of this impoverished family, and they put the game on for me to watch while I painted.

I went into it expecting us to lose... What team starts their backup QB for a playoff game when their starter is still healthy?! But as the game went on, I slowly started to hope. After Christie kicked that FG to put us ahead with seconds left, I was jumping around their kitchen & high-fiving the dad from that family.

Then the stupidity that followed silenced the house. I walked away trying to hide my sadness, but just started crying. 12 year old me was devastated... I can only imagine how older Bills fans felt.

Kind of makes sense!!!   We have a lot of blowout wins the last four seasons, and all of our losses except for like 2 in that timespan were close, exciting games

During the drought years I actually re-watched the game a few times minus the last 22 seconds.

I have to wonder if this game played any reason as to why the Bills didn't try a squib kick during 13 seconds?  My unpopular opinion is only Super Bowl 25 was a tougher loss to take in Bills history since the 90s.

This would be the right time for me to bring up the Travis Kelce to Kadarious Toney play that would have beaten us except for Toney’s stupidity.

It was obvious to me that the Chiefs had practiced that play.

It’s no coincidence that it happened on the 24th anniversary of the MCM and was Andy Reid’s attempt to put a dagger through our hearts for the rest of eternity.

It's an example of how suddenly a WR can decline.

Hmm... do we know any current cases?

***** Doug Flutie.

One of the biggest #######s to ever wear a Bills uniform.

At least if he’d had played in this game, it wouldn’t have even been close. So there’s that.

***** him.

Love,

Gugny
