NFL MVP

Bills!Win!

Recommended Posts

The NFL honors is tomorrow night. I’ve never watched it but I may tune in just because Josh Allen is in the running for MVP.

My question is, do they select who the MVP is before the playoffs or do they wait till this week? If it’s before the playoffs it’s Lamar. If it’s after the playoffs I believe Josh Allen has it locked in

Ive also never watched the show. Is it worth tuning in to? I heard Keegan Michael Key is hosting it. I’ve only seen some of his stuff. It’s good material from what I’ve seen.

If Lamar wins it, it's a shame as yes, as a Bills homer I feel Josh should win yet if he doesn't Christian McCaffrey would be 2nd on my list followed by Tyreek Hill. Yet I get it the award is going to likely go to the best player on the best team and not necessarily the most valuable player. I mean everyone knows the Ravens couldn't find a QB that could pass for less than 250 yards in 7 games and score less than 2 TDs per game on his own.

No, but if enough national media people say it then people start to believe it.    The guy with the most touchdowns in the league this year wasnt voted into the Pro Bowl.  NFL awards, and accolades are an extension of the NFL's hype machine, they dont need to be based in fact.  They only need to help sell jerseys.

Watch the highlight reel of Lamar's best plays. It's him running and the only one of him throwing (what quarterbacks do) is him throwing it up for grabs and luckily his guy catches it in a sea of defenders. Terrible throw. Lamar is not a good quarterback, he is actually below average. But hey, look at him run around. That's fun!

2023 would be the worst MVP in a long time.

Allen and McCaffery deserve it over Lamar.

Its basically the "QB on the team with the best regular season record" award at this point.

The bobbleheads on TV will tell you he is deserving. The award itself has actually shifted from the ACTUAL most valuable player to, the QB on the team with best record in the NFL more times than not. They also love to pump up Jackson, Mahomes (who is actually justified), Hurts, Prescott, Burrow, Lawrence, whoever, while always picking various reasons to slight Allen. Turnovers, "could have been" turnovers, the guys he chooses to throw to on any given play, anything they can use, but they have to continue to carry that flag. The clown show will continue. The same crap media types and analysts will spew the same crap narratives, on their same crap shows, to generate clicks or views from their trough fed audience.

Josh Allen is the ONLY player in the NFL who can take over a game.

He's the ONLY one who seemingly risks life and limb in games.

He's a grinder more than anyone.

He's due.  He's the MVP!!!

Disagree. Mahomes can do it as well. He has many times in his career.

Eh.  Not like Allen does.   Allen becomes possessed it seems.  Sometimes a good thing, sometimes a bad thing.

Allen is an elite player no doubt. But have to give to credit to Mahomes as well. He can take over a game just like Josh.

IMO, Josh had way to many negative plays to be the MVP. He was just too inconsistent this year.

I personally think it should be CMC. 2000+ yards and 21 TDs is a very impressive season and he didn't even play the last game.

But it'll most likely be a QB, probably Lamar.

lol

I give him loads of credit, but he's no Allen.  Allen can be a bully.

Agree to disagree.

The biggest flaw in mvp voting is it doesn't factor playoffs. It's basically a regular season award given to the qb with the least amount of interceptions.  I think after this season the Lamar love- fest will wane because of his playoff struggles. Josh will probably be runner up a 3rd time.

I know it’s a lock Lamar will win it because the talking heads have it in their heads, but seems like that would be more of a collective team recognition than a true MVP season or achievement.

If it’s not Josh, it should be CMC.

The host on one of the FS1 shows this morning predicted Josh would win MVP... that they have to take into account total offense, total TDs, etc..

I can't see someone who didn't even get voted into the Pro-Bowl being given MVP. But then I didn't expect him to be nominated in the first place so who knows.

Agree with those who are backing McCaffrey and (as much as I dislike him as a person) Hill. Lamar winning it would be a joke.

absolutely not.  He's a fraud (again).  At least in 2019 he was legit--he was their entire Offense. I never understood him as MVP weeks ago as a foregone conclusion.

If he wins this year it will be as bad as Rodgers back to back in 2021 (over Kupp).

Every part of Josh's game was better than Jackson's.  Allen was also arguably more valuable to the Bills than Jackson to the Ravens.  In the playoffs, Josh went down swinging, Lamar laid down and got his cazzo handed to him.

Jordan Love is a more solid MVP candidate than Jackson.

yeah anyone with half a brain can see that Josh is more valuable to Buffalo than Lamar is to the Ravens.

I don't know how anyone can say this with any kind of certainty.  Without Allen, the Bills don't win many games.  Without Jackson, the Ravens don't win many games.  The Ravens offense isn't that great.  Dobbins was out.  Their WR are very iffy.  Andrews at TE is great, but he's hurt a lot.  So a lot falls on Jackson' shoulders, just like Allen in Buffalo.

I'm not disagreeing that Allen is worthy, but every fan thinks "their" guy is the most important guy in the league.

No. No he’s not. Guess that’s why he’ll be playing in his fourth Superbowl this Sunday.

Go follow another team if youre gonna have a ***** attitude.

Recall its a "team" sport.  Flacco has won a sb.

"Fans" like you truly are the worst.  Go root for the dolphins.

Huntley ran the Ravens offense at the end of last year and was a fumble away from winning the wild card game.

Not sure about that but Josh almost lost it after the first game with the Jets, hard to honor him as MVP after that performance.

I mean, I see your point about Mahomes as it's hard to argue he's not #1 now.

But it is a team sport and personally I'm not a fan of judging players just by championships.

Does Mahomes go to 4 super bowls without one of the greatest head coaches and tight ends of all time?

Not too mention other hall of famers he has played with. (Hill, Chris jones)

(And even an all time clutch DC in Spags)
