“Speakers will be leading times of prayer, and a message will be shared from the Pegula family”.

All are welcome. If you can’t attend in person, it’ll also be live-streamed. Here’s the link to the live stream - https://live.ehwc.org

Such a sad situation. What exactly happened to this great woman? Does anyone really know? So young.

Heart issue. Her daughter needed to give her CPR to revive her. She was without oxygen for a decent amount of time. Iirc she had complications or another episode. One of the daughters wrote an article about it a couple months ago

I hope this doesn’t mean that her condition has gotten worse.  The fact that the news broke 2+ months ago and they are doing a service makes me wonder.  Hopefully that’s not the case

Unfortunately that is what entered my mind.

This isn't their church so I doubt they have any ties to the family that indicates they have any knowledge of her condition beyond the rest of the general public.

I had the same thought sadly… on a related note Eastern Hills is a great church.

Looks like more of a PR thing from the church doing it independently.

I hope so… the timing just seems a little considering that Jessie broke the news over 2 months ago.   You would think they would have scheduled this event earlier

More likely there is a new project that popped up, like needing some roof and steeple repairs, and this is just fund raising by the church to pad their coffers while attendance is declining.

That church is huge, and what the Pastor who planned the church did which was really smart, is he built a subdivision of patio homes surrounding the church, and the church got proceeds from each sale of each house. They're not lacking in money.

Can't recall where I read it, but Kim's daughter commented the other day that she's doing better.

Is this one of those “prosperity gospel” joints?

What they are doing seems tacky.

Maybe here?

"The biggest difference last week compared to the 2022 league meeting in Palm Beach, Fla., was the absence of Owner/President Kim Pegula, who suffered cardiac arrest in June. An early February essay by her daughter, Jessica, revealed Kim is dealing with "significant memory issues" and "significant expressive aphasia" — speech difficulties caused by brain damage.

[...]

"[Ron] Raccuia [Bills COO] said it was "certainly" different not having Kim in the sessions in Phoenix [at the annual league meeting].

"Every day when Kim's not here is different," he said. "Terry is here and Kim is doing better, and that's fantastic news for everybody, not just the Bills, but for the league because Kim is a huge leader in a lot of league initiatives and is widely respected in league circles. Wemiss her every day."

All gods blessings to you Mrs. P i will be praying for a full recovery in Jesus name !! 🙌

Amen.

Kim and Terry saved Major League Sports in Buffalo.  Forever grateful to them.  They made a few mis-hires along the way with both franchises but we all learned with them.  The biggest lessons are:

  • The Coach and GM relationship is key
  • Flashy egos may not be the best fit for your franchise leaders--hard workers who know how to build relationships are..
  • Hire folks you have faith in on the player personnel and coaching side, give them resources and let them be

Both franchises are long-haul contenders and the Bills and the Sabres are desirable destinations for players.  An amazing change from when the Pegula's bought the teams.

I pray for Kim for many reasons. #1 at the top of my list: ..she is way way too young to be deserving of this situation. Just reflect for a moment on how young she is. It's mind-boggling. 53 years old is too young for this.

How many of us bloviators on this board are older than 53?

I want to see her contributing to NFL committees tomorrow.
