Will we win the division next year?

Patriots - their D was better than ours this year, and one of the top D's in the NFL. If we had that D last week, we'd be playing this coming Sunday.  Now, they have an ACTUAL OC coming in, to coach a QB who will never be elite, but isn't as bad as we always say.

Jets - I thought they should have made the playoffs this year. And that was with bad QB play for most of the year.  They are going for a vet - Rodgers, Jimmy G., who knows.  Their D is already one of the top units in the league, and they have some great young players.  I think Saleh is the real deal.

Dolphins - obviously, the greatest threat.  If Tua was healthy all year, things might have played out very differently over the past few weeks. They are a very good team, on both sides of the ball.

I think the AFC East could be historically good as a division.  It will be such a fight - I'd still pick us to come out on top, but there will be a few close games that will likely decide it in the end.

Thoughts?

How on earth could you predict that today?  We have no idea who will be under center for the Dolphins or Jets - who knows, maybe the Pats too. This is a question to be asked after the draft and free agency.

As it stands, do I expect to go into next season as the prohibitive favorite to win the div like we did this year? Nope.

If Jets sign Rodgers the division will be up for grabs right up until the final week.  Pats are terrible.  Dolphins are in QB purgatory with Tua.

I think the Dolphins move on from Tua... maybe Brady goes there?

Would be a spin if Rodgers and Brady in the Div

I have no doubt that a lot of "experts" will pick the Jets or Dolphins to win the division in 2023, assuming they are able to stabilize their QB situations.  I think it will be good for the Bills to be considered an underdog again.

#1 - I think the blue print is out on how to stop the Dolphins offense which for some reason our DC refused to implement.

#2 - Jets offense got worse with Hackett as the OC….unless the pickup a good to great QB in the off-season I see them finishing behind us.

#3 - Patriots are average and don’t scare me at all.

New England is a mess and Bill just seems like he doesn't care anymore. The Dolphins and Jets are a problem.  Especially if Brady & Rodgers decide to end their careers there.  It's all moot if our own organization continues to fail Josh.

The Dolphins have a part time QB, No cap space, no draft picks, the Jets are the Jets PUUUUU

This is what I think part of our problem this year. The team has not made the mental shift of being the hunted as opposed to the hunters.

If we beef up the O line then yes, we are still vastly superior at the most important position.

This.

We won 14 games with this line

If we improve with 2 to 3 better performers

We win the division by three games

Yes. Most definitely. But we are past that as a franchise. We need an AFC championship game win. That's the next hurdle. That's the only win that will mean something significant going forward.

Will it matter? We need to win a playoff game.

We have won about half of our playoff games under this regime. That's not what this team has lacked. Getting to the superbowl is the only legitimate goal now.

No way we win division at 7-10 with losses to each of the AFC east teams

This is just a ridiculously idiotic take. Just because the Bills didn't beat a top 3 NFL team in the playoffs doesn't mean they are now a below .500 team.

Very true.  But I actually wonder now if it might not be better to sneak in, play on the road & have low expectations.

Well the fact that our team hasn't played exceptionally well in games with extreme weather we may very well be better off not getting the 1 seed and avoiding the winter weather in WNY.   Bills Mafia travels well it negates the home crowd somewhat so it's not like the Bills are surrounded by just opposing fans.
