How confident are you the Bills beat the Bengals?

I'm at about 65%. I think the bills are the better team overall, but we've watched them shoot themselves in the foot so many times this season. While I think the bills are fully capable of playing a mistake free game, it's hard to comprehend they will. Being at home is a big advantage (I think).

Right there with you.  I think they "should" win, but would not be at all surprised if they do some boneheaded things that cause them to lose.

I hate to say it but maybe 30%?  We have been playing poorly for way too long.  Bengals are a good team with a chip on their shoulder.  I think it’s a safe bet that they win.

They literally were a fumble away from losing and they havent been blowing teams out all year.....but you are Peter Pan so I get it

Just wondering how come I hear the Bengals have a chip on there shoulder but never hear the Bills do as well? We have 13 seconds from last year that has been talked about to death. Both teams have something to prove and both will come out fired up ready to play. There isn't any less motivation for the Bills then there is for the Bengals. And I'm confident we will show up and win on Sunday, might not be flawless from start to finish but at home we have the edge.

Well, I threw the “chip on shoulder” comment in because of how the game cancellation hurt the Bengals more than anyone else.  The NFL didn’t use their own rules of win % and told the Bengals/Ravens it’s a coin flip.

 

also, they were playing well against us, and when the game was cancelled, they lost their chance at 1st seed.  
 

and the Bills, they certainly don’t play like a team with a chip on their shoulder.  Maybe they will against KC?

Everyone assumes the Bengals were just gonna wipe the floor with us 7-minutes into the game.  Bills moved the ball just as easy against their defense too.

100%, not even a doubt we will win. People/fans are really underselling our defense, it gives up plays but also gets a bunch of pressure, 4 sacks, 2 INT last game against a division opponent that wouldn't go down without a fight but guess what we won yet another close game that we were told we can't win close games. 

 

The Bengals won on a miracle fumble, Joe Burrow only had 209 passing yards 1 TD and 1 rushing TD, the best WR Jamarr Chase had 9 REC, 84 yards, 1 TD. They are very beatable and we now know the blue print, run on them or pass on them since they are giving up yards in the air and on the ground. 226 passing yards 2 TD from Huntley and over 150 yards total rushing. They are definitely beatable and the defense of the Bengals had 1 INT, 2 sacks and a FR for a TD, other than that miracle fumble the team as a whole didn't play all that great imo and yes another tough division opponent for them also.

Maybe I’ve been at this longer than you. I ALWAYS root for my/our team, but there were years, many years, when even my Golden Retrievers knew we were very unlikely to win very many games. 

 

Every game scares me, and this one is no different. I’ll wait and see how it plays out.

We were the ONLY team that controlled their own destiny for the #1 seed prior to the MNF game. We didn’t play a game and then we lost control of our own destiny.  The Bengals were never in control of their own destiny.   As it turned out, they never even had a chance at the #1 seed as KC won week 18.
 

what’s more important, the #1 seed or the #2 seed?  We lost an opportunity at the 1 seed.  They lost an opportunity at the 2 seed. And Cinci lost more…. 🙄

Well if you look at the Bengals last few weeks of the regular season not including the stoppage against us. They struggled against Tampa until Brady started turning the ball over, they almost lost to the patriots if not for a fumble almost at the goal line. And had two weeks of struggling against the Ravens. So if that's playing with a chip on there shoulder I'll take my chances Sunday no doubt.

The beginning of the last “game” was very concerning. I know we typically let them score early, then settle in, but it was not looking good. 

 

We are going to need to get pressure on Burrow, and if we can’t do it against their banged up OLine, well………we need to spend our first four picks in the draft on DLine. Keep at it till you get it right!

I love how people assume that because the Bengals reached midfield on their second drive, they were going to score a touchdown, and then another, and then another, etc.

 

Granted, things were not looking great on defense.  Losing Taron Johnson on the first drive was a problem.  And then when Damar went down, before we realized how serious it was, I became even more worried.  I'm sure the GDT was a hot mess.  I've never looked and I don't want to.

 

But Taron is healthy again and the injury list for both teams looks different than it looked 2+ weeks ago.  Plus the game is in Buffalo.  I think this is what chaps the Bengals the most -- that their best shot against us was in Cincinnati 2+ weeks ago, and the landscape is different this time around.  I can't blame them for feeling that way.  But I also think that, now that Damar is recovering and they've had some time to think on it, the Bills are chapped that everyone assumes they were going to lose that game.

 

It's going to be a war on Sunday.  But I'm 100% confident that our guys will show up and play well, and when they do that, they're hard to stop.

I don't think they should.  I think it actually would increase the pressure on the Bills, feeling like they have to win for him (on top of the pressure they already feel).  It also puts a lot of media scrutiny on a guy who a) didn't want it/slash wishes it never happened and b) probably just wants to lay low and fully recover.  That's just my opinion.  Some here think it would be good to jack up the team and the crowd.  I don't think it's needed.
