I mean if you were an an NFL player, wouldn't you want your stuff for your man cave or den? I just think it's weird teams would charge players for it. Is it just the cheapass Cards or do the Bills do the same?

Maybe it's just Cody.  LOL

Why the heck would you want it at all?

Either you'll get more from teh Cards next year or you'll be somewhere else and won't want a stanky old gear from somewhere you're not even playing

I remember when I played (oh about a hundred years ago) once you found a helmet brand/fit you really liked, you wanted to hang on to it out of fear you would not be able to find that fit again.   NFL teams are contracturally stuck with helmet vendors today and his next team may not use the same vendor.   Just a thought

Really? What did she do or say that was so upsetting to you?

Obviously a thousand still felt like real money to her. A thousand is real money to most of us I'm guessing.

Why do people feel the need to share everything they deal with? And who the hell really cares anyways? Imagine going to a social platform to tell everyone that you had a  nice crap that made you feel light and slim. Geez.

Do you want some links?

Most likely. I know players buy their jerseys for a jersey swap.  Otherwise everyone would do it.  Can you imagine the cost if everyone just swapped jerseys?

I think the az cardinals are as  low budget as it gets. Just what are They going to do with used already shirts, even helmet. Are they too freakin cheap to not just count those as business expenses and keep it moving?

There's something wrong with this picture. Penny pinchin money grubbing baloney

PS: I know for a fact that Cody Ford is a father to a young son. I don't know who the female in this clip is. May be wifey? I dunno.

I had to buy my shirt at Domino’s back in the day. I don’t miss those days…and I think Cody won’t miss his days of buying uniforms pretty soon, too.

I think it’s BS.  You hire someone to a minimum wage job and make them buy their uniforms?  Same crap as the military and cops.

how the hell did we ever pump a 2nd into that guy?

he's SUCH a fatbody.  underwhelmed since he took the field.

kinda reminds me of this DE who came out of FSU late in the 1st round, a german kid.  when i saw him in preseason i was like "he had 10+ sacks in the ACC?".  not quite an adonis.

The USMC made all of us buy our entire initial issue of uniforms, only the first hair cut was on the house, and all subsequent replacement uniforms that were worn out over time came out of pocket, gotta admit, I was pissed off when I got my first paycheck and found it to be short by around eighty percent.

seems kind of silly on the teams part....

lets take the helmet.....several models to pick from, sized exactly to fit cody......what, are they going to hang on to it, hoping another guy matches those specs. not to mention sanitary considerations.

lets take the jersey....a team gets many requests to donate for charity.....but for someone who's no longer on the team ?

Key words are "They have to buy the gear they want to keep".

Why would an NFL player get to take their helmet/uniform for free from the company they work for?

I also am in the being on any NFL team is an accomplishment camp. Hell if I am Ryan Fitzpatrick, I am having a spiffy helmet for every damn team I was on in an man cave / office / or hallway display in my home.

At the end of Marine Corps boot camp I had to pay for my all unis. Came off Parris Island with $600 bucks in my pocket after three months of hell. I later learned they deducted everything... Soap, unis, shaving cream, etc. And this was 2001. Not the 70's. It's petty when these dudes make millions, but that kind of puts it in perspective.

We still get annual clothing allowances which pay for uniform items so we don't pay for those items after boot camp which helps!

This woman needs to understand basic math.... he made $1,468,747 in total and the cost of the uniform is over $1,000. This is the same BS that makes me mad when millionaire and billionaire business people whine and cry about taxes when it's a tiny fraction of some ridiculous amount of money.

Having to pay for the helmet I understand, the Riddell Speedflex that most NFL players use are $500. Helmets can be used multiple seasons, even if it's by another player.

But the jerseys surely aren't re-used the next season, why not just let players take those?

man, if I had Cody fords career my grandchildren would think teams were battling for my services. I’d be nearly as mythical as Santa clause by the time I was done showing off my gear.

that aside, wasn’t Arizona the one that got called out a few years back for shorting things like bonus checks by the postage amount to send them?

It was not completely owner's fault.  He got reference from league to talk to $nyder on money management.

Do the Bills do this with any players who want to take their gear with them?

I don't know, but Please!

A lot of working stiffs have to buy all or part of their own steel toes, OSHA non-slips, polo shirts embroidered with the chain logo, black slacks and white dress shirts, whatever their employer requires them to wear.  And these are people earning $14-$24/hr  or minimum + tips

Cody Ford has reported 4 year earnings of $7.8M

I worked at a McDs in the 80s and even they didn't make us buy our own unis.

McDonalds is good that way.  But even there I'm told they have to buy their own non-slip shoes (can have them deducted from paycheck) and sometimes pants.

A friend's kid recently applied for a bunch of chains, and many of them required the kids to pay for their own shirt, non-slips, etc

What do you say, "get off my lawn!" probably!

Now if you were commenting on people saying expecially instead of especially I'm with you.

Every generation does things with pronunciations and such, you just notice it because you're not talking that way because you are no longer cool my man (don't worry, neither am I).
