  1. agreed. not convinced the defense will be that much different from last year. Lots of takeaways and big plays, but not dominating down after down. Is what it is when you are drafting 30th and no one else is letting their top D lineman get away.
  2. big surprise there. most on this board don't want to be woken until the tournament starts. not sure what they are going to do for 4 months...
  3. probably so
  4. not much a WR can do when his foot was hurt and couldn't play.. just that simple. Bills moved on as it would not cost them anything. Frankly, Bills prob would have done the same with Curtis Samuel if it wasn't for the contract commitment. They pretty much had to keep him and rehab him back to playing. Claypool (and Cooper for that matter) they could just cut /do nothing and get healthier or younger bodies in there. NFL is pretty brutal to guys who can't get/stay on the field. There's always somebody else out there ready to go.
  5. once he signed his contract, all the lawsuits start...
  6. well I guess Coleman is good at basketball. yawn
  7. The NFL made a decision many years ago to protect WRs and QBs from getting mauled the way they had been mauled for decades. The NFL opened the doors to a passing league dominated by passing plays during a period when TV/Streaming contract prices accelerated upward. So the way to win is throwing the ball downfield, since the rules encourage it. So QBs and WRs are way more valuable than RBs, and the contracts today show that. The numbers are so massive due to the salary cap, which is driven by what networks/streamers will pay to show NFL games, has increased dramatically recently. Its all pretty simple. Load up on QBs and WRs , as they determine if you win or lose. And you have the salary cap to pay up for them. RBs are good to have, but not essential to winning and losing. Is what it is.
  8. kind of a little guy... always a concern when they get to the NFL and get start getting beat up by grown men
  9. kinda like Jax. all the fans care about is the Gators
  10. all things considered, Goodell has been a big success.
  11. wait until next year and see how much quieter it may be... that really worries me
  12. agreed. but trading up to 22 or earlier to get him would have cost Beane a lot. in 20/20 hindsight, of course it may have been worth it. We'll see how Coleman does this year;
  13. Lets see how he does this season. BTW, I know this is a "Beane sucks" OP, but the McConkey-led Chargers were pretty much hot garbage last season as well.
  14. so I guess he will be retired or cut by year end?
  15. i remember watching CFL games on TV long ago. Fun league
  16. ah yes, fair enough, forgot about that really smart draft trade deal. so they could win a few this, help Stafanski keep his job (not a good idea IMO), and get a QB. I stand corrected.
  17. they are quietly tanking for next years QB draft. IMHO. If they pay a bundle for Cousins or whoever, hell they'll be out 40mil , win a few and screw it all up. Drafting the franchise guy is what its all about in the NFL. Will the coaching staff all get fired in the process for losing 13 games? Yep. But thats the cost of doing business. An example of a team that is screwing it up is Cleveland; they are trying to win games. The Saints are playing it beautifully now that Carr is retiring. Tank and grab Archie Manning's grandson... what a story that will be.
  18. that would actually be an amazing result. if you are going to tank for a QB, this is the year to do it, with the strength of next years QB draft class. timing is everything
  19. don't really care. we are set at WR. so, whatever. we are trying to get faster with guys who can seperate; Gabe can't do either
  20. Bosa. Other than him, the D is no more productive than last year (which was very productive in turnovers, etc)
  21. In Beane we trust. He pulls it off every year, next year will be no different. We'll be loaded. Go Bills
