  1. Correct on Diggs. That was a cap disaster and cost Beane an entire season from a FA market perspective. Cover 1 has taught me quite a few scheme design things for sure, and I like to think I know what I'm looking at. Sure, they are WNY homer guys for sure, just like the rest of us..... but they take a very film analysis viewpoint, and the film doesn't lie.
  2. reading all these posts, it seems that as much as you guys loath OBL, you are all watching/listening to it. what a bunch
  3. So many on this board (incl. me) who are out of the area. Curious as what % of TBD is outside WNY

  4. lets see what he has this year... patience, people
  5. so the highest scoring offense in the league is only the 8th most expensive? good management (again) by McBeanes.
  6. yep. I agree. but Beane will be fair and make a solid offer.
  7. well, they need an additional 35+ or so players under contract before camp starts......
  8. did not get the breaks that the winner of the tournament typically gets. another tremendous, successful season full of so many amazing plays, victories and memorable moments
  9. we are done with FA. With only $5m of cap left, that will pretty much be used up for draftees and UDFAs. Actually Beane probably needs another $5m of cap space, so watch out, could be more changes / contract restructures coming.
  10. another "dream team" OP. sigh. boy the offseason is slow
  11. a little early for this poll... see you with this in 6 months
  12. Samuel had turf toe from preseason til mid season. Devastating injury. You can barely walk. He was out of the offensive loop for 3 months. Once he was healthy , he was fine. I live in the DC area and he was dynamic with the crappy Redskins QBs he was stuck with.
  13. Not sure about the whole numbers thing. Whatever. Little guy. Little number. Ok. 8 just doesn't seem like a football number. Punters and crap wear 8, right? PS QBs.. right?
  14. My sense is the Bills will continue transitioning and may be playing a lot of man by seasons end, assuming a new set of DTs are run-stuffing and Bosa is healthy and producing by then . That will be the moment of truth for Benford as he'll need to be taking the ball away, etc. not just sitting in a zone. If he can do that and not get a third concussion (or successfully come back from a third), then maybe the extension might make sense, but I just don't see Beane doing it at anywhere near Stingley money. If the pass rush is getting there, a hot rookie (or GunnerBill can successlfully play man if the ball starts needing to come out in under 2 sec. Go draft us some hot DBs Beane.
  15. yeah the Elam thing will be an ongoing mystery... will be interesting what the Cowboys do with him
  16. maybe this is what you meant, the salary cap is itself largely determined by what fans, by their viewing habits, will drive advertisers, and by extension, the TV networks/streamers to pay the NFL for the rights to televise games. . the salary cap is a derivative of the revenue recieved by the league for broadcast rights, period. YOu and I watch less, the advertisers, and therefore the networks will then pay less and vice versa. The salary cap per team is roughy the sum of the leagues TV network broadcast rights revenue divided by 32 (teams). The calc is not that simple anymore, but that is essentially it. this is why the league is bringing in Amazon and Peacock and Netflix , they will pay more than the old tv networks will , increasing the pot being divided by 32. and making the season 18 games, etc etc. ... further increases the numerator Stadium ticket revenue is split by the two teams playing the game, if memory serves (that's why Ralph was pushed so hard to build a bigger better stadium with higher ticket prices-- the other owners hated playing the Bills at the Ralph as it was a low revenue game)
  17. Beane will draft a couple corners this year, let Benford play his contract out, which he will need to do at a high level to get the $$ his agent wants. Beane probably either lets him walk or does a L'Jarious Sneed on him like KC, tag him for a year, then trade him for a 3rd or something. Beane is not paying that position 25 per year in this defense. Its just not happening, IMHO
  18. this is pretty much it, yes. Looks good to me. Next question?
  19. yep, they are toast now. I prefer the way Beane plays this stuff.
  20. Benford probably now thinking that it might be best to play out his final contract year. Big choice coming for the young man. With the concusson risk, starting to think the Bills should have him play out the contract and see where we are during and after the season.
  21. he and Cook are in the same boat. It's a choice (1) go the Saquon route and be a cancer or (2) take the more than reasonable deal Beane will certainly put in front of both
  22. true, but what about Johnson (4th) Benford (5th), Wallace (UDFA) , Jackson (7th) , ... for f's sake McD even turned two UDFAs from f ing UB into capable players (whom other teams want, if they can get them) I'm with you, the Elam story is a mystery, but McD can take just about anybody draft-able (or not) and turn them into a capable player (or more in the case of Johnson and Benford).
  23. Pretty sure McD can coach up a couple higher draft pick corners to take over for Benford. Heck he made Benford what he is. And Tre. And a couple others. It's what he does. He is the CB1 whisperer. Corner is the most "coach-up-able" position group the Bills have.
