Either you'll get more from teh Cards next year or you'll be somewhere else and won't want a stanky old gear from somewhere you're not even playing I remember when I played (oh about a hundred years ago) once you found a helmet brand/fit you really liked, you wanted to hang on to it out of fear you would not be able to find that fit again. NFL teams are contracturally stuck with helmet vendors today and his next team may not use the same vendor. Just a thought

Are they too freakin cheap to not just count those as business expenses and keep it moving? There's something wrong with this picture. Penny pinchin money grubbing baloney PS: I know for a fact that Cody Ford is a father to a young son. I don't know who the female in this clip is. May be wifey? I dunno. Don Otreply
The USMC made all of us buy our entire initial issue of uniforms, only the first hair cut was on the house, and all subsequent replacement uniforms that were worn out over time came out of pocket, gotta admit, I was pissed off when I got my first paycheck and found it to be short by around eighty percent. Mr. WEO
$1350 is much cheaper than the Bills/Cardinals paid for this bum (7.8 million, a 2nd and a 5th).
papazoid
seems kind of silly on the teams part.... lets take the helmet.....several models to pick from, sized exactly to fit cody......what, are they going to hang on to it, hoping another guy matches those specs. not to mention sanitary considerations. lets take the jersey....a team gets many requests to donate for charity.....but for someone who's no longer on the team ? What a Tuel
Key words are "They have to buy the gear they want to keep". Why would an NFL player get to take their helmet/uniform for free from the company they work for? I also am in the being on any NFL team is an accomplishment camp. Hell if I am Ryan Fitzpatrick, I am having a spiffy helmet for every damn team I was on in an man cave / office / or hallway display in my home. It's petty when these dudes make millions, but that kind of puts it in perspective. We still get annual clothing allowances which pay for uniform items so we don't pay for those items after boot camp which helps! This woman needs to understand basic math.... he made $1,468,747 in total and the cost of the uniform is over $1,000. This is the same BS that makes me mad when millionaire and billionaire business people whine and cry about taxes when it's a tiny fraction of some ridiculous amount of money. 2 hours ago, PromoTheRobot said: "Helmets are for closers." 947
Having to pay for the helmet I understand, the Riddell Speedflex that most NFL players use are $500. Helmets can be used multiple seasons, even if it's by another player. But the jerseys surely aren't re-used the next season, why not just let players take those?
