Just another one of a very long and growing list of problems.… Too many people think that doing things like this is the right way for them to live. Truthfully, too many people think that things that impact others in a horrible fashion are appropriate.

Punching Bag
He was shot twice (yes twice is multiple but is more specific). https://www.popville.com/2022/08/shooting-on-h-street-ne-around-615pm-sunday/ Quote Robinson was shot twice and taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries believed not to be life-threatening.” Christian writes: “double incidents on H three blocks from each other. I think the one at 10th & H is another shooting, one at 7th looked like may have been an assault on a woman both significant Road blocks”. From MPD: “Alert: Shooting Investigation in the 1000 block of H Street NE. Lookout for two black juvenile males with shoulder length dreads, medium complexion, wearing a black or brown shirt with yellow smiley faces on it.” I have been in that area a number of times and never had an issue coming from National Arboretym. Not usually a bad area during day. Perhaps he was wearing a lot of jewelry and this was an opprotunity robbery.

This is why i avoid lots of areas in wny. Not worth taking that chance of walking across that one desperate guy that has nothing to lose. machine gun kelly
Thanks Jag. To give an example, if Cook was driving a BMW in Hamburg, and was shot in a robbery, I would be surprised. Not that there is no crime in Hamburg, but a lot less likely than another area. I will say a prayer for the guy. It’s not a great way to start you’re NFL career. For the most part, Rivera comes across as a class act, so hopefully they keep him on PUP as I’m sure he’ll need a month to recover.

This isn't the place for this discussion, but obviously crime is going to increase as more people exit pandemic-era isolation, return to work, etc. How do the numbers compare to 2018/2019? Of course there are other dynamics at play too.

Yeah, or maybe it’s the lax criminal justice system that society has now embraced. 1 hour ago, Just in Atlanta said: In major American cities, first half of 2022 compared to previous period: Residential burglaries (+6%) Nonresidential burglaries (+8%) Larcenies (+20%) Motor vehicle thefts (+15%) Aggravated assaults (+4%) Robberies (+19%) Murder (-2%) ... but up 39% overall since the pandemic/2000 summer of social unrest Source: Council on Criminal Justice Everything is a cycle, but those who are mocking people for saying things are out of control, are out of touch. Of course there are other dynamics at play too. Numbers are definitely up since the pandemic began. There's no denying that. And there's plenty of potential reasons for the rise in crime (which I won't name, but that both sides of the political spectrum like to spout as gospel) that we need to analyze the data on further before drawing any firm conclusions. I just take issue with the histrionics displayed by folks who call crime "out of control" as if we've descended into some Judge Dredd style nightmare. I suspect they live far too much through television news and social media.
